i'm going to give your shape a go shortly, loved sports but I think i need something a little more serious lol...
 
Was just wondering if anyone can help me? The Kinect only seems to pick me up from my waist up. Im standing around about 8 feet away from the camera. Ive done numerous calibration tests. I noticed it more when i played the 'your shape' demo, my torso was floating in the green box. If i look at the kinect sensor it seems to be looking up toward my head. Is there anything else i can do apart from run the kinect calibration?
 
Tbh mate, thats what i feel like doing. Just tryed to have a family game of bowling. Worked fine for me, but wouldnt pick my 8 year old or six year old up unless they stood on a box! Which obviously takes all the fun out of it!
 
If you go in to the calibration whilst in game, you can adjust the tilt up and down manually. You get the skeleton on screen so you can see how it is picking you up. Found this better than the auto adjust
 
hmm, something is wrong somewhere, in the 'tuner' mode it tracks my torso really well but cuts my legs off. In Kinect adventures it tells me im standing in the 'ideal' area. Think im going to have a hunt for the reciept to be honest.
 
Space is my biggest issue with this. Until I can get a shelf for behind the TV we are having to play it along side the TV having to look to our left all the time!

Nope, Ive just put it on the floor, then run the tuner, the kinect pivoted all the way down, then all the way up. In the tuner i could see myself, apart from my feet. Ive been looking on you tube and what i have is nothing like what i see on there. If i could manually adjust it, I think i could sort it. But im thinking its going to be best to take it back and get a replacement.
 
I just noticed the Kinect Sports DLC today. Not bad considering its free, the new running mini game is ridiculously tiring though :(

Also I'm surprised at how well it works in a quite dark room.

SUPER STRIKER - Football
Constant corners score as many as you can, avoid the boots.

PINVADERS - Bowling
Lane full of pins coming at you, knock as many as possible using both hands, don't let the pins reach you.

RAPID RUNNER - Athletics
Run as far as you can in the time limit, resting at set points. This is ridiculously tiring if you are unfit (like me).

TARGET SMASH - Ping pong
Hit the moving targets on the other side of the table for points. The more you hit each target the more points it gives.

FRUIT SPLATTER - Volleyball
Hit the fruit being served at you, avoid the bombs.

KING OF THE RING - Boxing
Knock out as many opponents as possible in the time limit.

Not much but it is free and the mini games are quite good.

Hey guys!

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I've calibrated it for myself but when the kids try and do it, it struggles to pick them up, almost as if they're too small! Can it have a calibration for each person? If so, how do we do it? Will it recognise the face and change to it?

Thats what happened to mine mate, i phoned microsoft and they told me to take it back to the shop. (big purple one) They swapped it straight away, no questions asked. Brilliant service to be honest.
Havent had chance to test it yet, but ill report back later.

Yep this one seems to be a lot better. It fits us all in from head to toe. Im 5'11 and my smallest is ummmm a small 6 year old! Might be worth giving microsoft a call. If you want the phone number give me a shout.
