*** Official Kinect Thread ***

Im having no problem with distance but a few problems with width. Two player football seems unplayable because neither player can make saves, as soon as you move you arms in front of the 2nd player to save it doesn't seem to detect them...yet if we move further apart it can't detect us.

I've got about 8ft of space between the camera and my sofa in the living room so I can get 2 players in comfortably. I'm just annoyed that there isn't any true 4 player at the same time games (in the same room) yet.

Surprised you couldn't have 4 players running side by side in Kinect Sport.

Was trying to play kinect adventures with the missus last night. But my legs were flailing all over the place on screen. She was being tracked perfectly. Had a look at the tracking settings and I noticed my legs had big black blotches and were flickering. Seems the material my trousers were made from were affecting the IR rays it shoots out. Simple black trousers is all they were.

Picked one up at last yesterday with Kinect Sports, some dancing thing for the missus and EA Active.

All I can say is I am impressed, very slick bit of kit, love Kinect Adventurers, and EA Active is very well done.

Tried kinect at work yesterday and really enjoyed it, PE Staff bought it for training in the new dance studio amongst other things and has really made me want to go out andpick one up with sport and fitness (Would like dance central at some point, too). But was wondering if you guys think our living room would be ok size wise for one, Sometimes 2 players? Excuse the boxes, the kittens play in them :)

thining of moving the footstool back and curling up the near edge of the rug!

If not there's always the office, but will make it noisy if she is downstairs :D

You should be fine where you are stood taking the pic, but in front of the sofa would possibly be too close and the footstool definitely needs moving.

Ah ok, but fo rsingle player could do between the sofa and footstool with the sensor maybe on the windowsill?

You really need the sensor to be in the middle of the tv either under or above.

I got one and have 8ft space and the wife and I were playing Kinect adventres yesterday 2 player no problems.

Well my kinect (:D) is now sitting behind me waiting for me to tidy the office to get it tested and set up :D

Fella's, so how much are you actually using 'gaming' wise of your Kinects? I've probably used it for all of 3hrs since buying.. Probably spent twice that tweaking and testing, but all in all for gaming I'd say 3hrs max.. Trying to make myself feel a little better about this purchase. Can someone please tell me if there's anything coming out on the horizon that there is to look forward too ? Glad, I didn't install a new shelf and damage the wall hiding cables.

What games do you have?

I bought mine as my missus wanted YourShape so I got it her Xmas, personally I thought it would be crap but im really impressed, hence going out and getting Kinect Sports.

I recommend the EA Active one, really good workouts, definately work up a sweat! :)

Missus wanted Zumba, not that impressed myself,

I want GTA to come out on it, that would be epic

I'm using mine pretty much every day now though I am on a health kick and trying to lose weight (lI've ost 12lbs so far since NY through diet and Kinect alone).

I finished with Kinectimals which despite buying for my girls I found strangely compelling. Whilst I'll achknowledge it's really just a bunch of minigames tied together with a cutesy story it's brilliantly realised and the minigames are not only well done and varied but a pretty good workout at times.

Yourshape fitness is my go to game at the moment and I'm aiming to knock off about 200 calories a day until I hit 10k. I'm holding off on EA Sports fitness until I'm bored of this so I can stay motivated. But I can see if you weren't interested in really getting fit/staying fit then titles like this could lack appeal.

Dance Central is probably my most fun game and the one the mrs and I play when we get time. It's a good work out and a really good game. Very recommended.

I've also got Kinect Sports which I find is the game I'm playing the least on my own but it's always first one when we play as a family. Party mode is brilliant.

I've just ordered Sonic Freeriders which I've heard very varying things about but I have also read that if you really give it some time then there's it's a very good game. I also got it for £23 and my daughter and I liked the demo so It was woth a punt.

I'm still interested in Zumba (well my wife is) and Fantastic Pets has my daughters eye and comes out soon so I can't see us stopping playing Kinect anytime soon either.

I used mine for about 2 days then the wow factor wore off. My wife thought the fitness was good at first until about a week then it just got a bit dull.. Sold it a week later after suffereing the Wii effect it was good just do you really want to wave at your tv to play really simple games..

I've used mine every day since I got it before Xmas for Kinect Sports, Dance Central and Your Shape.

Sometimes it's only been for about 30 minutes at a time, but I'm still finding it fun. The Wii's novelty had already worn off after the same amount of time when I got that.

I think I will use it more, as I have always used the Xbox more than the Wii. And I don't have to get extra controllers out, just insert game disc, and act like a loon for an hour.

Gave it a rest last night, as muscles I didn't know I had were aching... :)
