Just received one I ordered for my girlfriend. I'm blown away, its a shockingly nice phone. Enough to give me second thoughts about the Nexus 6p I'm looking at for myself.

The missus wants a replacement phone ASAP and has said she can walk into Argos and get a G3 for £200 is the G4 wort the extra 100?

Imo yes definitely worth the extra money. Better in every way. Will be supported for longer too.

Especially impressed with the camera, even in auto mode as well as the screen is pin-sharp!!

Clear defaults is not highlighted. When I used the camera for the first time it asked which picture app to use as default and I opted for Google picture app.

I want to change it to the gallery app.

Has anyone gone from an S6 to a G4. Wondering what your thoughts are on screen and overall size?

Only thing I can't get used to is the power button in the back! Having had Nexuses for 4 years and probably a similar design before that I'm so used to the power and volume rockers being on the sides.

It would be annoying if it wasn't for tap to wake, as I quite often have my phone on my desk at work and not being able to turn it on without picking it up is actually quite annoying.

Is there a way to lock the phone without using the back button?

you need an empty bit of home screen but double tapping will lock it

I'm struggling with the volume/lock as well - keep hitting the camera first but i'm sure with time...

Nevermind, used a third party app and changed the gestures for Nova .

yer, that'll be nova doing it - the double tap to lock is a standard launcher thing

Not tried but I understand double tapping the status bar will do the same and is not related to the launcher.

Lovely. Also does anyone know if I've taken photos in raw, is either the Gallery or Google Photos app able to edit them as raws or does it just edit a jpg version? If not what app would people recommend?

Edit: Sorted, using Snapseed. Pretty good!

If anyone wants or would prefer a white back to whatever they've got then let me know and I'll happily sway. I've ordered a brown leather anyway but may as well have a backup that I'd actually want to use!
