**** Official LG G4 Discussion Thread ****

Found this really usefulhttps://youtu.be/ZI0LR26i86o so much I didn't know this phone can do. Just little things like changing my home screens to carousel is great.

Thanks for that, some handy tips there. Really happy with the phone, took a bit of time to get used to having such a large phone again coming from a z3 compact but loving it now. Extra 100gb of google drive storage for 2 years was also a pleasant surprise!

Is the camera good enough to capture family snaps and video over say the Sony Z5 or some of the other newly released smartphones? The G4 seems very good value at under £300 and a substantial upgrade from my Nexus 5 that had past 2 years. The N5 battery and camera have been poor even though I like the stock Android.

You sold your Sony RX100? I was actually contemplating getting the RX100 to run alongside my smartphone and DSLR. I can for most parts live without the zoom as would be shooting the toddler doing something mainly for times don't have the DSLR with me or want to capture some moments. I also looked into a camcorder but the 4k video mode on the G4 seems good enough.

I use the G4 and my DSLR which does me fine tbh. I found I have the phone to hand more so it's easier just to use that. The G4 takes great pics the camera is very good for a phone. I compared a few pics to my RX100 ones and there was not a great deal in it. Not enough to need a compact as well.

Depends if it's a uk one or not.... LG give 12 months themselves they do not cover grey imports from the UK though. You may have limited rights claiming form a non UK seller as well...

Personally I would buy a UK model from a UK seller.

Bought one of these for the current Mrs. Undergroove and although it's specced amazingly, it's driving her (and, by extension, me) up the wall...

As she had a Nexus 5 previously, I've set Google Now launcher as the default, as well as dropping to stock Google apps where available, so she's familiar with the way it all works.

Her niggles seem to centre around location and WiFi issues, such as dropping the home WiFi connection, Smart Lock not always working in the house, as well as the odd niggle with Bluetooth in the car.

I'd add that when I used the same physical phone for a few days I had none of the issues she had and, to be honest, had I not picked up a Nexus 6P myself, I'd be getting one of these bad boys.

Can't for the life of me figure out what she's doing that makes the phone misbehave in the way it is, and from reported issues I've seen, although the odd symptom matches her experience, there's nothing I can find to suggest it's anything other than a problem between chair and touchscreen... also pretty much ruled out any whacky apps shes installed and had her running it with nothing other than factory apps too.

All a bit vague and wishy washy, but other than swapping out the current Mrs. Undergroove for a newer and less temperamental model I'm a bit stumped really. Loath to change the phone too, as I don't think there's anything wrong with that!

Suggestions on a postcard please to the usual address c/o the Blue Peter garden etc.

I think the G4s going for £269 come with 2 pin plugs and No headphones. Not sure why they would come with no headphones if new.

My last one was a EU model with 2 pin plug and came with headphones & spare back.

First thing I will do will be to register it with LG via imei number if its a no go it will simply be sent back

Yes best too. Haven't registered mine yet but I bought it off amazon so not sure I need to. If it goes wrong amazon should sort it I would have thought.

After having got sick of my one plus one over the last year, and very much realising that getting a flagship phone for £269 isn't all roses and peaches, I have taken the plunge and ordered one of these. I have very fond memories of my G2 and considering the G4 only costs £300 sim free, it seemed like the logical choice.

There must, however, be some way to utilise the wonderful screen other than just crisp text and nice backgrounds. I got in contact with amazon to see if Amazon prime streams 1080p to it and it turns out they stream 480p to every Android phone. I know that Netflix doesn't explicitly say that it gives out 1080p to the G4 (it is a very small list of phones indeed), but it does say that the G3 can get 1080p, so surely the G4 can? My G4 doesn't come until tomorrow, can someone with a strong wifi connection verify whether it can stream 1080p from Netflix?

I just hope my post doesn't just get shoved on my doorstep like it always seems too. I went on an Amazon binge on Sunday and a total of 8 packages just got left sitting on my doorstep for hours....
