Awww my fish died :(

They can be quite annoying, I made an effort to feed them every time I did a mission, I've had it once or twice where I simply go talking to my various squad mates on the ship, go back to cabin and they have died :p

I wanted to be able to read "Fornax". I went to my cabin expecting it to be on my personal terminal but nothing.

Anyone know what the space hamster does? Other than squeak a bit?

If I remember correctly it was quite expensive early on, but I bought it thinking it would offer some weird quest or special item later on in the game.

*listened to a VERY strange conversation between a Turian and Quarian on Illium* Yeah that was just... what the hell!

Hah! Yeah that was interesting.

And I did have to laugh at the Salarian, Turian and Human having a table dance from the Asari for the (Salarians) "stag party" :D

Still doesn't beat Mordin's 'Gilbert & Sullivan' moment ... hilarious.

ok so i have been playing my first playthrough now for about 35 hours and ive still got 2 teammates to recruit and im guessing 2 more loyalty missions, ive only completed 2 offworld side quests also, of all this ive spent 2 hours at the most scanning planets, how have some of you guys completed all this in under 25 hours? this game is HUGE compared to the first one.

thoughts?

Just bought the game for lowest price I can find, Finished the 1st one on the 360 but cant get it working on my pc and no real reason why I cant.

Hopefully 2nd one will work fine.

It appears larger but it isn't. I finished it on the 360 with 39hrs played, and is infact smaller. You've got sod all customisation, less varied weapons, planetary exploration is small and lessened thanks to dull/tedious planet scanning.

The Citadel in the early stages of being rebuilt so in ME2 it is quite small by comparison. This gives us a chance to see other more detailed planets such as Tuchanka, Omega and Illium but once again they are very small.

Bioware have turned ME2 into a 'lesser rpg' than ME1 now as character building is non-existent. Minute xp amounts for sidequests only? Whats the point in even having that anymore. The story & cutscenes shine, but it has been simplified hugely vs ME1.

I think the XP gain for mission completion only (with a few asides) works better than on a per enemy basis. My biggest gripe the skill system. I like how they've done it, 1/2/3 and 4 is a choice. But i don't like the whole 'requires rank 2' thing and how limited allies skills are.

Am i the only 1 who thinks Tali is utterly useless in this 1? I normally used her in the first since her techs came in handy, but her skill selection is terrible. The Combat Drone is hard to see if its doing anything (and gives your entire skillset a 30s cooldown which it is definatly NOT worth), AI hacking doesn't have much use and Energy Drain just sounds dreadful.

I actually quite liked Tali, used her AI hacking (when applicable) and the Drone as a distraction for the enemies, stopped them getting over to me and as I enjoyed one shotting the majority of things with a headshot this worked nicely. I kept Grunt close to me to deal with anything getting too close.

On the rare occasion I used Legion and Tali, the 2 drones really confused the AI a bit, as they stood there looking at them most of the time.

I will say the drones are useless until the tech side of things are fully upgraded though.

Distractions are hit n miss though. I prefer direct intervention.

Just completed 1 mission with Grunt and Garrus. Garrus has maxed out AoE Concussion Shot, Grunt has maxed out Heavy Concussion Shot and i've got Concussion at Rank 2 with 70% Adrenaline Rush. Its just pure chaos, sending everything flying at random, even more fun when you Cryo something and it just goes flying when you hit it with concussive.

Aye I had the AoE Concussive shot on my Shepard and used Grunts Heavy Concussion shot a lot as well. The thing with the drones is making sure they cast them on the path they are taking towards you, it is often fairly obvious but I will admit that sometimes they were ignored, but the Concussive and Heavy shots sorted that out.

The AoE concussive shot was amazingly helpful dealing with those horrible little blue/red husks :).
