**Official MSI Z77 Mpower Discussion Thread**

Casteil the Issue is prior to Windows the Bios is in charge of the cards and it assigns the top card as primary which 99% of users attach the monitor to. In Windows you can choose the primary card through the drivers. It would need a bios update to change this to allow you to be able to make the second card primary as this is a feature currently not available.

Thanks. it is more of an annoyance rather than anything else. One other question, not related to this thread really, but I have just bought 2 GT1850 fans to replace the stock ones on a H100i, what is the best way to control them as the corsair link is useless with 3pin fans.

Is there any way of turning the cpu status led's off permenantly ? I go into control center ,set them to off , but every time I restart they are on again , and have to go into controll center again .

You might check in the BIOS, left hand side (down) "Energy Saving" ? There you see the "LED" option.
Is that what you mean?

I am looking at those right now, because of you, thanks!
I have the i80 version and I am not happy when you run it on the third (hard) mode. Instead I use "2". Does it really matter that much?
And should I get the "1450" rpm version or the "1850"?

(at: http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/051/d1225c12b1ap_detail.html sorry to go Offtopic and not MSI related here now.)

As for "the best way to control them" try to look for a 5,25" bay with fancontrol ;)

Is 4.2 at 1.177V with temps of 65c\66c\68c\65c ok?

I done this through clickbios 2 as the OC button wouldn't get to 4.2 :(

yeah thats fine

whats your pll voltage at??? auto??, could get mine down to 1.55v this will help lower temps.
if you have a usb stick grab some screenshots from the bios so we can see other volts and settings

I don't have the same cooler as you, mine comes with software to control fans and so on, however no matter what I do with the Corsair link custom setting or otherwise the GTs will only slow down to 1450rpm. They are controlled to some degree, but its very limited. I need them to be controlled by the CPU temp, so I think they are pretty useless for my needs.

any fan controller I get will need to be able to control 3 pin fans via the mobo PWM function. So far I can only find a sunbeam controller that does that and it is impossible to source.

I think I am going to have to return to the stock fans or the apaches I had on their previously.

Type in voltage manually whilst auto is highlighted, or its control and - to lower or shift and + to raise the voltage.
I also had SA volts set to about 0.985v and IO set to about 1.15(experiment with this one, as you have 2.4ghz ram maybe start at 1.2v and work back)
SA voltage is used when your overclocking the bclk and IO for overclocking the imc(internal memory controller) with my 3770 installed in the mpower and those volts on auto it was setting it around 1.25v which was way too high for what it needed.
I usually use linx to test http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/LinX-benchmark-Download-132129.html for about 20-30 mins is enough.
The lower you can get the voltages with ivy cpu's the better it will be/clock.

Edit. And if you do get a problem/bsod, dont panic and down load a prog called who crashed once installed and you get a crash, run it and press analyze and scroll down to get the blue screen code

This thread will help to decipher what to do ;)

What you could do is to mod your new fans:
1-Black = Ground
2-Red = 12v
3-Yellow = RPM

If you take the yellow cord and attach that to your motherboard, you are good to go :) That one reads the RPM and you can use those fans.

I have a question regarding the OC Genie button on the motherboard and how to use it.

Do I press this with the pc running as I can see no clear instructions on this.

Thanks.

I pressed it while it was on then restarted but it did not work for me, maybe it will for you?

I can do yes but only when I finished doing xtreme cooling stuff. Its a pain to pull off the insulation then put it back again. LN2 next then after that I will do a guide.

Thanks 8 Pack ;)

More results achieved on the MSI Z Power with MSI 7970L this card can do 1600/1900 as you guys have seen but I wanted to real of these OCUK benches for the forums one after the next so stuck to GPU 1500-1525 and mems 1800-1825. CPU is 6.05-6.1ghz!!!

These scores take me to the top of the leader board in each case!! :)

Lets see what this MSI Board, CPU and GPU can do on LN2 at weekend when I drop the temps another 60-70C!!!!
