** Official Oblivion Story / Help Thread **

I wondered what the big deal was over Alchemy, and then I hit level 2 :). It's so much more useful now, and the amount of combinations by level 4 look mind-boggling. Should be fun seeing what I can create (I've already made a fantastically useful potion that ups Intelligence for about 4 secs and decreases health for about 15! :D).

Wow, that's ace. Don't tell me you ran away and didn't kill it though? You had it pretty weak, and who knows what sweet stuff you'd have gotten.

all you get is a unicorn horn :(

Or if you dont raise a weapon to it.. you get a unicorn to ride.. ;)

Was it not surrounded by minotaurs?

As for Nimzicki.. if you want to sell higher value items to a merch, you have to invest in that merchant which can be done with master/expert mercantile skill.

where do you guys put your arena battle rainments when you arent using them? as i can carry mine around it weighs too much

In my house..

Or in that cupboard.. although ive heard that if you leave things in cupboards etc that arnt yours.. they can go missing..

Ive completed the main quest and are pleased to see theres items vastly better than what you get during and after the main quest. Unlike morrowind this isnt a game which leaves you thinking "hmm now what" lol :D

/Semi Arena Spoiler

What is the deal with the adoring fan when you leave the arena after becoming the 'chump'... i just thought he was going to steal from me, so i told him to follow me then to stay where he was which kept him happy and away.. making me happy..

that was after i started to slay him the first time round and then loading..

Oddly my game just froze on the loading screen when I exited from my house I just bought oO. Console didnt crash but it wouldnt get off it lol

Anyone offer any help with your second/third proper Mage quest where you have to 'open the pillar'? I've got the fire and ice part, but the other bit isn't working.

Argh!!

Got that damn polyvampirethingiecurse again!

Went straight to church, said I'm a sinner. Went to the old hag who supplied me with a cure, nothing.

I'm NOT a vampire yet, but don't wanna go through that quest again.

Any ideas?

Hint:

Fire b4 Ice

Is there any other way of recharging my magical stuff instead of going to one of the mages and paying for it recharged?

Costing me a right packet!

I got a message saying I have been affected by the pre-vampirism disease but have not changed yet, is there anywhere in my inventory to tell me im actually infected or not?

trap souls in soulstones and use them to recharge or do dungeons for varla stones (same thing basically)

go to your spell tab and look at your active (passive spells and afflictions) and look at whats on you atm. If the vampire disease is 1 of the items just make or buy a cure disease

I'm finally "getting" how the major attributes effect levelling up. I've been wondering around for ages killing various things, and playing my char how I wanted to play him, and was only at lev 2.

After reading how the major skills all contribute to levelling up, I had a look through them a bit closer, and found that by just casting minor protect self over and over again, I can zip up the levels. Went from lev 2 (from about 5 real life play days) to lev 4 in about 20 mins this morning, including pratting around in the arena for a while and trying to find the ayelia (sp?) ruins where there's supposed to be varla stones?

When I get home, I'll look at the rest of my attributes and see what I can push up by just running around casting whilst in imperial city or wherever.

Cheers mate, thought it would be there. Seems it isn't so I'm not going to turn into a bloodsucker just yet :)

How exactly do you do that? I've been waiting for a tutorial on that all game.

to trap a soul you need the spell to do it. Its part of the alteration list of spells so if you dont have it the mages guild will sell it. You need to find soul stones to hold a captured soul in which then has a certain charge depending on the creature you capture. Cast the spell on the creature then kill it to capture it, then USE the stone in your misc items to bring up the recharge tab and choose the enchanted item you want to refill

Varla stones are basically charged soulstones
