Bruce Willis is actually dead!
So who was doing his last few films?

CGI can work wonders these days.
@ Lysander: I've updated the steam names list to include Portal 2. It might be useful to have in the OP so people can see who else has the game for co-op.
GlaDOS is alive.
OK, I'll move the info over from your spreadsheet.
Still??
I see what you did there.
Although part of me is wondering whether I should have just waited and gone in to the new game without the practise..
I'm very sadI've had 6 weeks off of work due to a back injury and the day I'm due to go back is Portal 2's release day!
How unlucky am I!![]()
what extra money?
i don't think one person here has bought the pack to try an get portal 2 early but because they were cheap and fun games.
People keep repeating this, but we all know that there are plenty of people here hiding behind this line, that wouldn't have bought the sack if it had nothing to do with portal 2 and it potentially being released early. In the last few sales on steam, all the games in the potato sack have been at the prices they are now numerous times - if people genuinely wanted the games for the games themselves, they would have bought them before - making the discount on the potato sack worthless as they already own half the games.
I think whats more likely is people buying it in the hope they're contributing towards an early release, and telling themselves that they'll probably (hopfully) enjoy several of the games in the process.

At this rate, Audiosurf will finish by release and The Ball will not.
So we're looking at an unlock time of about 9am tomorrow.
My god if Activision catch wind of this no doubt they'll be charging £60 for an early access limited edition version of the next CoD game.![]()

Then they're fools. The only thing they were getting were the games, at no point was it mentioned that purchasing the potato pack directly led to Portal 2 being released early. Yes it does say play them to get Portal 2 released early but you can contribute and take part without having to buy the sack and £30 would surely be worth a few clicks to see how it all works.
Besides, it's not like they were conned either, five great games and a handful of decent games all for less than £30, I know I would have snapped that up had I not already owned over half of them already.
OMG that's genius, I must get on to Kotick immediately!
No, just no.
You may be correct in your first point, that there are people here who wouldn't have bought the Potato Sack if it didn't have anything to do with Portal 2 (not least because it gives you an extra 10% off Portal 2 from buying individually).
But your second point is absolute ********. Nowhere has it been said it would be released very early (like, weekend early), people just jumped to that stupid conclusion themselves. You make it sound like people were willing to pay an extra £27 for games they have no intention of playing to get the game a couple of days earlier. My god if Activision catch wind of this no doubt they'll be charging £60 for an early access limited edition version of the next CoD game.![]()
Whether people jumped to the conclusion that buying the sack would release it on sunday or not, it doesn't change the fact that 'early release' was intentionally left open to interpretation by valve - and worked. There's nothing ******** about it, many comments in this thread already show plenty of people assumed it would be released sunday.
As I said in my previous post, I'm sure plenty of people did infact purchase the sack with the sole purpose in mind of helping an early release, and simply hoping that in the process, the games they bought would be worth it.
Why Sunday? The game was set for an afternoon/evening release on Tuesday. Why does 'early' suddenly mean Sunday? The whole countdown thing only started Friday. If it had started last friday, i could understand that people might have expected it to be released several days earlier (such as Friday/Saturday, ready for the weekend).
Nothing changes the fact if you actually spent an extra £27 on the prospect of getting the game a couple of days early then you are nothing short of a delusional fool. As Antar said, it quite clearly states you have to PLAY the potato games so if you just bought them without any intention of playing them then... well you deserve everything you get.
