I don't suffer from anything, I'm not allergic to anything, have no ailments on a regular basis but my eyes definitely feel different playing Rage so I'm assuming its the lack of vsync and tearing - it is quite pronounced on my screen!

I would enable it but after all the driver ****ing around I can no longer load my Cat control panel.

Well it's working, improved in that I get less artefacts and it 'feels' smoother BUT I can't access my CCC and every other time I transition to a new error I crash to desktop.

Should I try the 11.9 and Rage instead of the 11.8?

In theory it should be more stable but if you can be arsed is another story.

I found out why the game crashes during transitions, the memory use drops from 600-700MB down to 6-8MB!

I'm going to try this config fix to force the game to use a certain amount of vram - http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2156408

I have to remove the bottom three lines but the rest of that config definitely sharpens up my game!

Friday is the proper release date for the game.

I know that but i thought if he is playing the game now what would make friday any different?, it's the same game surely?. There has bee no official mention of any patches or specific new drivers.

if you do the max iq config tweak the game uses over a gb of memory but the texture popping is still their. the game runs perfectly fine even on my step sons dual core laptop with only a 5650 gpu

Well, quite strange really that some have no issues and others do. Think i will go ahead and purchase his friday and see how my game experience with RAGE is

. Could the problem be user error?.

Why do you care about a 64bit .exe? Rage isn't running out of ram as far as I've heard.

The problem isn't user error. I'll happily admit that some problems often are but these issues have been too widespread and people have clearly followed a lot of (correct) steps in attempts to fix them.

The biggest downfall of that site is having him post on it sometimes, theres a lot of articles he does well, then other times he comes off as a Child seeking attention.

I can kind of understand his frustration. It must be even worse for US players stuck with the game being kind of buggy. Especially as I imagine he has the same kind of Carmack fanboism that many of us (me included) have so he probably feels slightly betrayed

It can't bett he game can it?, if some have no issues with pop-in etc then what is causing the issues for others?. Strange indeed.

Not really. You're aware that PCs aren't consoles, right? There are lots of differences between each person's set up.
