What fixes would people recommend before running the game tonight?
Got the drivers but any of the config files need edited?

Running on a 6950 so should be able to handle it to a decent extent.
 
I run the below CFG, runs great with little to no pop in. AFAIK the highlighted lines are not supported on AMD cards.

Having played a bit more i can say there is a good game under the blurry textures :D

Such a strange mix of graphics to the very very good to the damn right ugly
 
Theres definately gonna be some incoming angst when the game launches, for me it crashes about 4/5 when going from outside to inside for some reason. :(

Another guy a few pages back had that, he said quicksave before entering new area then come out of game and continue game or along these lines you may want to check for his post.

Ive been using quick save points quite a bit, the game just seems pretty unstable when transitioning from outdoors to indoors =/

id may get their thumbs out of their asses and get this sorted fast, along with the texture issues its pretty laughable at present, though i feel theres a good game under all the problems.

so what do people recommend that i use gfx card wise ? , i have crossfired 6970's and i also have a gtx480 . which of these will be best for rage ?
 
Try out the 6970s as the new drivers and configs are apparently working well for people. However, I think the xfire and sli support is meant to be pap atm.

Otherwise, as Raven said, go for the 480.
 
Ok just a general question, How many of you that are actually able to play the game are using a Quad core? im on a Dual and cant play due to this issue.

Also created a thread on the Bethesda forums and it was filled with people with similar issues..some ATi and Nvidia users

same, just isnt playable on c2d.

ok the only fix is to revert to 11.8 drivers. but the other issues arise.

Raven, the guns look great? really? I think the guns look truly awful, and the game mechanics are laughable.

When a enemy is doing one of his stumbling/getting up animations, you can't kill them, IE< with the pistol, head shot, won't die, he'll go down and get up, you can shoot him 15 times after the first shot but 99% of the time he won't die till the first shot after he's back on his feet. Its game breakingly stupid mechanics, I can't shoot him, till he's standing up again, and you can't headshot most enemys(if any, every one I've shot in the head from pistol to sniper rifle so far has got back up and needed a second shot.

Its abysmal so far, epically so, come out of the bunker, "please go kill people for me, I won't explain what happened since you've been in the bunker at all, just go kill people, woo".

Story, isn't there, mechanics are laughable, the truly buggy nature of the game, the randomly brilliant textures with so many truly awful awful textures inbetween that its ruined, the inability of the "scaleable engine", which is pretty much the fundamental design feature...... to completely miss what hardware you have and scale badly. I can't think of an upside of this game yet, characters look no better than other games, the best textures aren't better than the best games out there, the worst textures are FAR worse than in other great looking games out now.

So far the various missions are all so short and, boring, with no where near enough story to make it seem worthwhile.

I've got to the first major town(really the third proper place you can speak to people) , and I'm just bored, I've been told nothing, the missions are bog standard, the mechanics are poor and driving just seems like a fake way to stretch the game out.
