Christ. I knew it was going to run well on low end systems, but a 9800 is recommended?
Carmack and his team must have done an incredible job at optimising the new engine.

Agreed. I'm awaiting Raven to post something along the lines of "proof of console port" though.
Added requirements to OP, and looks as though Raven owes me a tenner for betting that the game wouldn't require over 15 gig. Though im sure that tenner is locked in a battle with his BF2 stats and will never see the light of day. 
Hopefully with his KD stats also

How the hell is that going to work on xbox
If you watch Quakecon Keynotes they use Microsofts super-duper compression & highly recommend installing the game to hard-drive.

Personally I'm kinda glad to see a game thats coming out that will push PC's more than the standard ones. Heres hopeing the trend continues and I can upgrade in a few years
Uncompressed the art assets are around 1TB, so the compression is need on all platforms & does help.
From the keynote, the worst case scenario is when playing on a PS3 (no HDD install), reading from blu-ray (super slow) and walking backwards into an high-detail environment then spinning round, will cause about a 12-15 seconds of texture loading (due to the game predicting where you're going to look and loading them as a priority)
Shouldn't be any issues if you're running off SSD/RAID0!

Aye. They should get a move on and upgrade tbh.
The minimum spec is very generous though, people with ancient hardware stand a chance at least.
Iirc.. It's on 4 disks as well as being compressed and optimised.
Every trailer I see the game looks better & better! Can't wait for this game the atmosphere is great. Kinda reminds me of fallout/doom
