this is one of the most broken games at launch ever on the pc. freezes every 3 seconds for 2 seconds. this is with 5850 and the rage drivers.

seems it has a problem with e8400 or c2d cpu's. why didnt they test this config? not everyone has quad i7!

It's heavily CPU dependent, more so than GPU, my 920 is working hard whilst my GPU is doing 30% usage, still getting a rock solid 60 FPS with vysnc.

barely stresses my x6 1055t... uses only a little of each core

What good would forcing vsync do? The game is already solid @ 60.

it stops the tearing either way

if your nvidia you need to use nvidia inspector and alter the rage profile as its set to force vsync off

just installed, Click play on steam i heard the music of the game the screen goes black for 1 second then im back to the desktop, although i cans till hear the music. FANTASTIC

Same Disabled xfire, same thing anyway - this is with the "Rage" drivers.

Seriously? I'm sending this back and tempted to just do away with the PC altogether

sounds like user error

are you sure the rage drivers installed correctly? on ym sons laptop he had some outdated 10.4 or whatever and if you tried to launch the game with those it would just bomb to desktop but worked fine once i installed the rage driver.

maybe run driver cleaner reboot , install driver ?

I dont have X-Fire or SLI.

Just rebooted and still doing the same. Got GTX 480 with the latest drivers for rage . Rubbish!
