*** Official Ryzen Owners Thread ***

Just build my ryzen system, POST and windows install fine but now crashing (freeze/hang, not BSOD or restart) at desktop and whilst trying to update windows. Meh!

Any obvious culprits please?

Board - gigabyte x370 gaming 5, flashed to latest BIOS (beta one with 1.0.0.6 AGESA)
RAM - gskill 3600 CL17 2x 8gb kit
CPU - 1700

I have immediately tried a couple of things to no avail -

SOC manually to 1.1v
DRAM manually to 1.35v
Vcore manually to 1.25v

Everything else is on auto...

Go vcore 1.35. Not sure what speed you're running your ram at currently? Maybe just go 3200C14 until you've ruled that out. If you're trying to run 3600C17, go up to 1.45v dram.

Downloaded the latest bios from Gigabyte of my Gaming 5, Currently all fine with XMP profile working on the 3000mhz PLX i'm using, 1800X is @ 4.1 and solid, great stuff.

Is the XMP profile active on the memory? could try disabling it until everything is installed.

Thanks all. I tried one stick at a time and all seemed fine so hoping the memory is ok. Also gave me stability for long enough to get all of the chipset drivers and creators update done which has hopefully helped.

I'm testing both sticks now at 3200 1.35v CAS18. What's the best program for testing overall stability on the RAM?

Surprised that my stock temps under prime95 for the CPU are only 50c at full load at stock. If I wanted to try for 3.7 or 3.8 on the stock cooler what kind of voltage would it need?

That seemed stable but got to 80c after 5 mins so stopped it there.

Should get my AM4 bracket this week which will move things forward!

Damn this machine flys!

Upgraded my x58 Xeon 6 core at 4.5ghz

Playing planet coaster (exceptionally well threaded game) is a completely different experience in a busy park.

Running 3.6/1.25v and DDR3200 loose timings too so more to come. Good stuff :D

Use the TechPowerUp MemTest first as this will show errors quickly if unstable. Run for at least 15 minutes, when fiddling about and if stable then run HCI Memtest.

Thanks mate will give that a go.

Not tested properly yet but 3200 at 14/14/14/34 was fine for an hour on planet coaster :)

3466 and 3600 however no boot at all at CL18. Any obvious tricks ? :)

Very happy so far!!

Still cant bealive that some people are trying sub 1.15 soc for 3000+ memories. Its a waste of time.

3333c14 15 mins stable with tech power up test.

3466c18 won't POST.

Odd!

Tried 1.15v SOC and 1.35v DRAM. anyone going higher on either or playing with procODT etc. ?
