*** Official Ryzen Owners Thread ***

can someone reccomend some ram for a

ryzen 1800x
msi x370 power titanium motherboard

been having trouble with my build its been stuttering and freezing and hanging and narrowed it down to either my cpu or the memory
think its the memory as its rarely the cpu

can someone reccomend a couple of kits 16gb (2x8gb)

been reading some other threads but its infomation overload

just need some ryzen compatible ram

cheers

Essentially all non-ECC DDR4 is Ryzen compatible, the issues people are having are to do with overclocking. If you're not overclocking and you're experiencing the issues you describe then some of your hardware is probably faulty.

For some quick troubleshooting, make sure your board has the latest BIOS and try running with just one RAM stick (try both individually), that will rule out a bad BIOS or bad stick.

sounds like issue that can come up when SOC voltage is too low.

But, as above, try rams ticks individually.

Samsung B-Die is definitely where it's at. I literally installed about 45 mins ago. DRAM 1.35v, SOC 1.1V, GD Disabled, PD Disabled, ProcODT Auto.

I can boot at 3600MHz too, I had auto timings and it kinda affects the performance :p

I'm going to see where i can get to with timings at 3466MHz and then try with 3600MHz as that'll require some more work, and then compare. I'm thinking 3466MHz will be nice and tight, and i'm hoping for something like 3600MHz CL 16,16,16,16,38 but i will need to play a bit.

I am on 9945 and got 3066 just by selecting it in BIOS and leaving the rest of the settings on auto for memory. Previously doing this I could only get 2933 on the official BIOS release.

This is on Hynix RAM.

Running my F4-3466C16D-16GTZR - G.Skill kit at 3466mhz off XMP with Gear Down enabled, 1.45v DRAM.
Testing in HCI Memtest I got an error at 184%. How would you suggest I approach getting the kit stable?
Thanks

What motherboard? If CH6, try BIOS 9945.

What's your SOC at? Maybe relax some timings like tRAS.

Where did you get the Ryzen Timing Checker Tool from?

Oh sorry. Aorus Gaming 5 on latest beta bios.

Soc was 1.15v I think

I don't have any experience with that board in afraid. Though 1.15v soc should be enough for even higher frequencies. Try tuning the timings a bit, loosen off a bit maybe.
Lowering VDDP can help too.

Thanks. Testing 3333 16 16 16 36 atm. See if I get efforts there.

Overclocked my Ryzen 1600 on stock cooler to 3.7ghz with 1.35 volts. Are the results good or should I buy an aftermarket cooler?

I ran CPU-Z stress for 20 minutes (not sure if needs to be longer) and had no issues. Idles between 35 and 40 degrees.
