Seems so. The X chips look to be the best in terms of IPC. That said plenty of people seem to be getting in the mid 3000's on the memory with 1700's.

My 1700 is stable as 3466 c15 but I may be very lucky with the CPU I have.

9920 bios and stilts 3466 settings from within BIOS menus.

Tempted me to try 3466. Couldn't do it at CL15 but CL16.

Nice boost in AC Origins going from 3200 CL12 to 3466 CL16.

70fps to 74fps, 1080p Ultra.

Hi chaps. I'm looking for recommendations for an AIO cooler, preferably with RGB, to allow me to overlcock my R7 1700. Thanks!

My NZXT Kraken x62 is doing a brilliant job in cooling my R7 1800x, getting around 40-45 degrees C (although my radiator is on the front of my case as intake) in games. a bit pricey though.

I'm not after... messing with anyone's beliefs here but... take a look at a review for ANY AIO cooler. Look at the comparison/results section. There's usually about... 2c total covers the top 10. If arctic freezer is in there, it probably wins (as it comes with double the fans). The fans make most of the difference, 90% of the AIO's are made by the same company, with the same parts to the same spec (Asetek).

So rather than "I know it's expensive but it's amazing, you should get the.." look at what benefits/stuff it comes with. That's about all that changes.

The OcUK tech labs Asetek AIO's are the same thing as any other, just no 3rd party branding.

I have 280mm on my wish list, funnily enough. Purely for the aesthetics as I didn't know if it was any good. Need to check if it'll fit my midi-case though.

Just looking at coolers for my 1700X too, spotted this one:

tbh though, most likely going the air cooler route, possibly the red led Hyper 212 EVO, as the original EVO works great on my current system.
Hassle of trying to get an AM4 fitting though :/

Saw a clip other day that showed whilst AIO are cooler to start off, over prolonged periods, that heat will just build up in the radiator & be louder due to more fans than a normal air cooler. Makes sense I guess.

Don't do it, some weird reports on other forums regarding increased memory latency and microop cache being disabled (for the segfault issue?), lower performance overall.
So nothing has changes since the 1001, there was performance decrease on previous one as well last time i checked, and it was significant.
