Yeah try reinstalling the audio drivers. No idea on your RAM though :/

It certainly doesn't work like that on the crosshair, we have to modify Pstates to get it to downclock and downvolt.
What i got is jack extension cable going from back to front and i plug in Headphones or speakers when i need to be on em. So You dont loose on quality of sound due to ****** cables that go to front panel :)

I miss the old Creative Live Drives... Plugged it in the back and still the same, it sounded like one channel was having problems - crackling a little. So I uninstalled the drivers, Windows picked up a standard HD drive which worked then re-installed. It appears to be fine on the rear and on the front using my Steel Series headphones...

..however (Welcome back to 2003) I have a Logitech Z2300 set of speakers and still can't get both channels to work, only the left. Worked perfectly with my Asus DGX sound card.

Have you tried changing impedance in the sonic software?

In the MSI boards it happens, set clock to 3700 and it down clocks if in balance power state. It only stays locked if powerformance mode is on.

My new toys arrived from OcUK.

Upgrading from a 2500k with an Asrock Z68 motherboard and 8GB of Ram.

The last time I had an AMD CPU was when I had a DFI Lanparty motherboard and an Opteron 185. I think that was around 2006, then I went with the Q6600.

And from reading various threads on Ryzen, it feels a little like we are back in the Lanparty days, lots and lots of tweaking to get every ounce of performance and watching for new a BIOS which might improve things even more.

Will post up a build shot when I am done.

I think I have basically the same setup as you, MSI Carbon, 1700?, Corsair 16gb LPX (mine is black tho), have to wait for my pump to arrive, got waterblock and everything else just sitting here waiting, guess I'll see how well you do with your OC if you do one

Yeah, I have the 1700 as well. I went for the white, because I am going for a black and white themed look, not sure if it will work at all :)

I plan to overclock, I just don't intend to push it too far. Will let you know how it goes. The update has stalled for the moment as I have had to do a couple of hours work.

well ordered mine today, was waiting on the CH6 to come back in stock
Ryzen 1700
Corsair LPX 3000mhz 16gig
Asus CH6 mobo - hoping I can fit my Kraken x52 with my current AM3 mounting?
Samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd
new copy of windows 10 64bit
Arctic silver 5 Thermal paste

going inside my corsair 400c along with
Asus Strix RX480
Kraken x52 AIO
Corsair rm650i psu
2TB seagate HDD

Should be a decent set up coming from a FX6350 on a really cheap asus motherboard.

any advice on build etc? Im thinking of leaving it stock until these motherboard bios updates are sorted?

Current AM3 mounting won't work. You need AM4 bracket/mount.

Yea I'll probably leave mine for a few months at stock too, I imagine there will be a lot of bioses in the next 4-6 months.

Nice! Whats the Taichi like? I've heard good things on it. What speed is your RAM?

I'm really pleased with the Taichi, its one of the nicest boards I've seen and its been hassle free setting it up. The only niggles I would say are the PCB is silkscreened with very dark grey, almost black, writing, it makes the motherboard look really slick but means that its difficult to know which pin header is which without looking in the manual. There's a setting in the manual for Legacy USB but its missing in the current BIOS, and the BIOS mine shipped with 1.40 didn't have a way to update the BIOS from within the BIOS itself. I had to download the BIOS to a bootable USB stick and update it that way, but the current Beta 1.55 version adds this feature. That's all that I can say to fault the board, otherwise its excellent I would say.

The RAM is 3866 rated, I found it at the same price other places were selling 3600mhz rated sticks for. At the moment its running at 3200mhz with default timings as that's all the BIOS will allow, I think it will need the updated AMD microcode to allow for faster speeds.
