Yeah everyone looks a little rusty as you'd expect. Diouf's flick for the Giggs chance was nice, Berbatov has done some nice touches and almost got a second there. De Laet and Rafael have both looked exceptionally rusty and Gibson has actually done nothing but lose the ball, him off for Cleverley please.
 
Great. I decide to do my first mini bet in like, months. Just the leftovers (18p) for United to win and now they are losing.

Lesson to be learnt...if i bet on a team, the other team will win. :o
 
I'd say Gibson should probably stay on - get some more minutes in him. It's all about getting the fitness back rather than anything in pre-season.

Although I guess Cleverley will probably come on for Giggs/Gibson. Wanna see more of Obertan too, as dodgy as he looks :p

I don't know much about Smalling but i swear i read in another thread that he isn't all that. But i think SAF is buying him as he can see potential so clearly something is good about him.

Well hes very rough. He joined us from non-league, ready to go to Uni, and 18 months later he's at Utd. He's got all the attributes to become a VERY good centre back, it's whether he develops. He was very solid for us, quick, very good in the air, and confident on/with the ball. I imagine another season with Fulham would have helped, but with Vidic/Ferdinand aiding him, I think he'll develop very quickly. He's still only 20. When Hangeland was injured, Smalling did a very good job.

No I guess not, but it's hardly our reserves. Most of these players are in the first team squad, just shocked how few chances we've created with a man extra!!
 
Didn't see Fabio come on, lovely play by Obertan there but once again zero end product. If you can't shoot or cross then all the lovely dribbling means nothing.

I guess. Although it's games like this that help, scrappy ones. Obertan with a nice little run just before.
