** Official ** Season 2010/2011 Pre-Season thread

Asia was the same, teams that are in the middle of their season who are going to be really up for it. Although yes it is about money as well, and giving our fans from other continents a chance to see us.

It's about re-gaining fitness really, no doubt once the world cup players are back, you'll just win without much trouble.

Who have UTd got to come back? Vidic, Rooney, is Carrick back yet or does he get an extra long summer, just because his first holiday happened to be in South Africa, oh, and Evra, though that looks like it won't be a problem in the future :p

From memory, they left a few players too and some World Cup...errr, Rooney, Carrick, Evra, Park, Hernandez, Fletcher?, and missing players like Ferdinand, Owen etc to injury and of course ones not being played, O'Shea etc?

Please dont tell me the united fans are moaning about a pre-season loss? City have lost twice in their pre-season games so far. Chelsea lost to Ajax, I think Spurs have lost and drawn?

As for United players still to return; Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra (3 of our first choice back 4), Valencia, Carrick (2 of our first choice midfield), Rooney (our best player), Owen & Hernandez. Not to mention Neville and Anderson

I personally couldn't care less if we lost every pre-season game between now and the Newcastle game as long as we beat the Geordies that's all that counts :)

Apparently in our game against Chícharito's old team he'll play the first half for us and then the second half for his old team! Be funny if he scores against us :D

Well last nights game:Manchester City v New York Redbulls was really bad....I know its a pre season but all of our players just couldnt be bothered bar Alex Nimley who looked really quite good....I hope we do better against Inter,Bourissa Dortmund and Valencia all of which are on ESPN ;)

probably not the best idea to sell off Pique and replace him with someone for more money who is much worse at football.

How is Smalling replacing Pique? Pique was sold 2 years ago, if anyone replaced him it was Evans

Regardless of that Pique wanted to leave, nothing that we could do about it

Yeah if you pinch a player from Barca's youth system, you only have them on loan...

<_<

>_>

To be honest I think that you are right and Barcelona had better be careful. If they get a name as a club that tempts players back once they have fulfilled their potential, they may find it hard to get much for their youth players when sold.

If Fabregas does go, it will be for much less than his value which is unfair to arsenal.

because we sold pique and then realised that rio is getting old and prone to back problems and that evans has always been that bad... so we tried to band aid things over by bringing smalling in?

when if we hadnt sold pique we wouldnt have had to and could have avoided playing evans too?

Your opinion on Evans aside Pique still wanted to go so you still fail

when u fcuk someone about by sending them out to sociedad on loan and then promise they will get no match time, you kind of send the player down a 1 way path i think.

so you think evans is good? in 5 years time will i be apologising because out centre back pairing will be Evans and Smalling the uber duo?

So you're already chastising the signing of Smalling based on 3 pre-season games?

As for Evans yes I do think he's going to turn into a very good centre back, he's been put up against the likes of Torres and Drogba already in his short United career and sailed past both so promising signs IMO

Lol.

Pique wanted to leave regardless, they rejected a bid the season before he left iirc? And Nickg, if Fergie had started playing Pique as first choice, you'd be moaning about that anyway.

When do Utd get their World Cup players back anyway? I wouldn't mind seeing that Hernandez play for them.

Hernandez might play in our next game on Wednesday but will definitely play in the first half of our game (Friday/Saturday iirc) and then for his former team against us in the second half

Not sure when the World Cup players are back though

Just out of interest, who thinks that Liverpool have a strong chance of winning their opening game? Arsenal have their own problems too, although admittedly not on the scale of Liverpool's.

Don't all your strikers fall out with Pulis? I remember James Beattie was in danger of being sold/frozen out and then Dave Kitson got in a strop for being subbed/dropped or something?

Problem with preseason games is you can't really read anything into the team selections.

no its just them two are absolute mercenary's of the highest order. They deserve what they get and hopefully both will bugger off in this window

In Pulis we trust
