******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Well who would have believed we would ever get to play 4.0

Managed to go from Stanton to Pyro but the quantum travelling about is still very rough, I think the markers are not where they are suppose to be, might just be d-sync.

Does anybody know if CIG keep all server locations up for the EPTU? Got some time on my kids PC to try out 4.0 but sadly I get a 60016 error code all the time when connecting to Aus servers but will connect fine to UK ones (with a horrendous 300ms ping sadly).

EPTU is a bit odd to be honest mate, they tend to focus on the US ones and other regions may/may not be there.

Many evo testing sessions only take place on US servers!

Humbug and I had an interesting event last night, at 0:52s in, you can see Humbug bumping into wreckage, but he claims (without evidence I might add - damning!) that he didn't hit anything, so it's like we were out of sync whenver in quantum even though he was piloting and I was passenger.

Been playing a bit of the 4.0 build, I went from Pyro to Stanton a few time and done a few hauling mission, the servers seem smooth enough with 500 ish players on the shard.

There is still a lot of issues, none of the Stanton outposts seem to work, still some dsync with the quantum travel markers at arch corp and the performance at the jump points is terrible.

I wonder if they will try to push that player limit before release?

No days off:
sc-testing-chat | Bault: Howdy testers! For those on shard _130, you are testing with a new subsystem that will performs cleanup for unattended vehicles, where vehicles that are left lying in key areas will be removed after an undisclosed amount of time.

As far as I know for salvage, the timers should be long enough to allow plenty of time for salvage to happen, this is more of a longterm measure for the moment.

Ability to have salvage missions for those is also considered but not for the immediate future. This should help specifically at Jump points and junkyards. If you see or spot new issues related to this ; please report them to the IC.

If they sort the general performance around the jump points and jump point stations, It'll be good, Yesterday went to do a jump from Pyro to Stanton and got half way to the jump point and the FPS went down to 5 and then it took a minute or so for the game to crash.

Also when exiting the jump gate you seem to exit a long way away from the actual tunnel if you look back. Hope they fix that too.

Its because of the accumulation of empty ships and ship carcases just outside the tunnel, once went there and my radar was full of them, it didn't take long for my game to freeze and crash.

Luckily CIG shoved out a server side hotfix, Only on a single shard so far -

I hope this is just around the jump points, I like seeing abandoned ships at outposts makes the universe feel lived in.

Its says "where vehicles that are left lying in key areas" so here hoping.
Even so. They said it will desapwn after a set amount of time. Not instant.

They said that eventually they wanna spawn salvage mission dynamically that incentivies players to clean it up

They need to make actual salvage gameplay good is the larger issue. Clearly have it define when a ship is abandoned and can be salvaged. The ones around jump point would be gone anyways if it worked properly more often.

Also once you can set up a base planet side maybe you can setup own junk yard where you recover the ships, strip them for parts. Strip hulls, sell hulls and such to those pirates etc.

You guys might be able to answer this as after a lot of time reading around I'm still stumped....
If you melt a ship, is there any way to keep it's insurance to use on a new ship?

Reason is... I have 2 ships I'd like to change, Vanguard warden and Constellation Aquila, I want to swap them for a Constellation tauras and an Andromeda but both are more expensive than the target ships so I can't just upgrade to them.
