******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Wow. I just participated in a 14 person party raid in the contested zone. It went well and we managed to obtain some cool loot in the process. It was a fantastic time and the game is really taking shape.

We had some inventory bug issues but other then that. no server crashes or any other game breaking bugs.

I think this is probably the largest party i have been in @humbug

Yup ^^^ :)

A group of us just did the contested zone on Ruin Station, 4 hours to make our way through the zone, its huge and like a rats maze, we got 2 teams Infront of us and another two teams chasing us through, one of which caught us up but we dealt with them, we were victorious, we got lots and lots of advanced ship component loot and keys for the next two contested stations, including the security pass we need for the final loot hanger near the Pyro star, it contains modified ships.

That was fun.....

Have you tried playing with one of us online?

I think I've said before and just to clarify again, I don't mean any offence by this, nor do I actually know if this is what it's like but..

My issue with playing online with stuff like this is that people often try to be too helpful. For example, when I started playing rust on my friend's PVE server we played together and straight away he starts telling me stuff like yeah you know you should destroy signposts because that gives you this item and if you see a gas station check this because then you can get this and this is the best thing in the game etc.

It seems to turn straight away into some kind of metafest and takes out a lot of the enjoyment for me which is discovering this stuff on my own. For example, I can appreciate a guide that tells you mechanics of how stuff works, but I don't want a guide that tells me how to make a million credits in an hour. This is why I generally avoid groups because I don't want that element to be removed because that is my favourite part of any game.

Another example is when you kindly gave me some credit so I could try some new ships. I appreciated it because it was cool to try out the ships (think I asked too) but then I was like well I didn't earn that so it just didn't feel right. However, now I have a subscription and I saw that I get ships in my hangar to try anyway so that's cool.

However, with all that said I also appreciate a lot of this stuff is way more fun in a group so I'm not saying I'm not going to play online. I'm just saying this is why I kind of avoid jumping straight in before I understand more myself :)

*Alsoooo, I am extremely laid-back/apathetic with games so I often find that not many people match that and tend to take it more seriously and then I find I don't really fit in.

Actually that reminds me. So I've got this purple gun I got from something or other, now if I was on a mission and I got killed and I didn't bother to retrieve my body, do I assume that item is lost forever?
That is why I haven't used any of my gift items from the advent calendar thing or whatever. I just get generic stuff from the shop.

Noxia, suspect I'm very similar. I speak to people all day and collaborate on work, when I finish up for the day all I want to do is chill, do my own thing and relax. I'm pretty anti-social in the evenings outside of immediate family!

My ideal Star Citizen evening is chilling with a small ship doing some exploration or salvage on my own :)

Oh if you got a weapon on your account e.g. from Luminalia and you lost it on a mission you'd need to wait until next patch I think, they are working on a way to "claim" account bound items though.

Cheers. Yeah I only just realised they were an actual weapon, thought it was just a skin at first lol.

Is there stuff to explore on the Stanton planets? Like if I just flew around and I saw a cave or whatever would there be anything in there. Or is stuff like that limited to contracts only.

I hear you but this is sort of the game where even if I tell u that some location is best for salvaging. You yourself still need to go there and put in the work.

Its like that for all types of mechanics in the game.

I understand you that you want to find things yourself but this game is not complete and you will either spend 20h (like you did) before you discover how the tractor beam works vs Just asking one of us.

Any head scratching questions you should ask and you don't necessarily need to be in voice for that. Just ask here, in reddit, in spectrum etc and people will help you. This game nerds helping hands. We did not all figure this game out on our own!
