Anyone know a work around for the "We are unable to deal with your request at this time" at the ship terminals issue?

Generally happens at busy locations. I "live" in a quiet station to avoid this message tbh. (currently Lively Pathway Station in Stanton). Other bonus is the hospital tends to work rather than just show "Room 0" as Seraphim and Everus stations seem stuck on.

Also I tried 3 delivery missions today, 1 worked, 2 failed as the lift didn't recognise the cargo as relating to a mission! argh!

I was flying to a station and then it said I was incapacitated and I was floating outside my ship lol.

Flew into a planet surface afk/cruise

Flew into the ground when I went to do a merc mission and I panicked when an NPC ship started firing at me.

Fell out of NB train.

The character repair seems to have done it, luckily I was not at my home location when I got stuck, so was able to repair and spawn there.

I think going forward my hospital location and spawn locations will be different. :(
 
I spawned a Polaris so my friend could come and have a look at it but I guess I was too long because it despawned and then moved me into the lobby again.

Mind you he cant get out of his hanger so didn't really matter.

O wow you have a polaris!

Only because I did that sub for one month and there was one I could play with.
We found out that it is very tricky to try and land a nomad in there may not actually be possible.

Also got stuck at Orison because the game thought we were undocked but we weren't and we only had the option to dock again and basically couldn't move the ship.
And then my friend somehow managed to fall into the coolant in the engineering bay and couldn't get back out
 
Got a 2nd omni throttle adapter for my VKB's, Makes flying in SC feel very nice.

Here is my once every few months post asking if they have managed to make it so other players in the world don't jerk around constantly ? Do we have smooth player movement yet and acceptable frame rates which aren't seemingly dictated by the server ?

For the most part yes, Even the trains/trams work very nicely now most of the time, Now that server meshing is in, It has enabled some very nice play sessions :)

So after playing 4.0 for like 5-6 days straight averaging around 5-7h per day, here is my initial thoughts:

Cons:
  • Most missions We have had in 3.x builds are not in 4.0(like simple delivery missions and investigation missions.
  • Severe game breaking bugs(Cant easily get out of prison, some players locked out of the game with 60k error)
  • Hanger doors do not open for some players meaning you cant get out of a station.
  • Most of the missions available in your mobi glass dont work(either the npc or cargo box is glitched/missing or markers dont work).
  • Easy to get pirated in pyro wthoout repucutions.
  • Reputation hostility system is not working(There is supposed to be two factions and if you side with Faction A, Faction B supposed to attack you if you enter any of Faction B's station/outposts and vice versa)

Pros:
  • Server meshing works!
  • The game space has increased significantly ( up tp 4x)
  • 500-600 players per shard.
  • Around 50-100% Client frame increase(im not kidding)
  • Server Tickrate FPS averages around 20fps, sometimes 30fps vs around 5-8fps in 3.x
  • Because of the above, NPC's are super reactive and difficult to take on now.
  • Less Jerk
  • The game runs smooth with less jerk
  • Pyro itself is beutiful
  • Contested zones are the first proper RAID type events you can do and it mixes pve with pvp.

Overall, if they can address the game breaking bugs, add the misisons we had in 3.x plus fix general mission issues and have reputation system working as intended. this will be a fantastic experience for people to jump in and play.

i suspect that will be CIG's top priority over the next couple of weeks.

A lot of those cons seem related to server handing of missions or character status to me, it sounds as if they need to work more on sycronisation between servers or the meshing tech.

I've barely been in Pyro, want to explore it when it's a little more stable and Stanton is so quiet by comparison that I'm getting peace to do missions!

Seems to be a mix of missions not being refactored yet (ran out time) and also setup in Pyro compared to Stanton. So yeah hopefully Elliot and team can get on with that asap to keep it moving forward. The login and black screen issues I assume would be priority for what seems to be a 4.0.1 patch aiming for next Thursday currently.
