******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Oh, by the way for anyone who is considering getting into the game i would massively appreciate it if you could use my referral code STAR-729H-PY3H this also benefits you with 5,000 UEC

Thanks everyone :)

Also just watched this

iv been looking at the Thrustmaster Warthog looks cool and LOADS of buttons.

Im willing to spend £500 on a full set up so if people right place that would be grate and ill take a look

There's some reviews on youtube, probably the best pedals you can get if you have the money. Think there's a bit of a waiting list though.

Sup guys!!

So it has been about 3 years since I got my I think it was bounty package that came with the 300i LTI. A lot of progress has been made since then, but it looks like the game needs another year or two yet which I am happy waiting for if it lives up to expectations.

I am hoping the single player game releases end of the year or early next year :D

I have my 300i LTI and that AMD racing ship Omega something or the other. Is that ship worth anything these days? Maybe I could trade it with my 300i for a Freelancer? If so could I transfer my LTI to the freelancer? Not looking to spend any real money, just wondering :)

On a separate note, I am still a member of USC all the way back from when Halfmad was with them, but then he left and I have never been active. Considering joining this XPLORE organisation. They seem to fit my play style these days as they are casual. Any reason not to?

Using Ship Upgrades the Omega is worth $55, the 300i is worth $55 and the Freelancer costs $110.

So in theory you could melt the 300i and upgrade the Omega to a Freelancer with the $55 store credit you got from the 300i.

Its worth also pointing out the Omega's melt value is $0 and it cant be restored if you do something stupid (like melting it). So if you did melt the 300i, you'd lose the LTI and you'd still only have a $55 valued Freelancer, and you wont be able to undo things.

The 300i is a package too, so worth more than just the ship etc.

You might find that if you're able to gift that Omega, that selling it might be a better way to go, especially if its also the +SQ42 version (first offer had both, 2nd only has SC).

To be fair I don't think they have any real competition in the price range, still to see someone objective review them too.

That's cool then, I've used CH ones and owned Saitek Cessna pros for a few years, both pretty noisy in use but decent value for money. No longer use as my daughters bedroom is below my man-cave and they were waking her up when I was focusing on pew-pew lol

CH ones felt a little too close together if I'm honest, which is why I opted for the Saitek, normally I'd avoid them like the plague.

Wow. Just had a look on ebay and these are going for $100! Yeah, mine has SQ42 it seems. Might as well sell it and keep the money then :D:D:D

Can always buy a Freelancer with in game credits. Got 32k UEC and 5k REC or whatever they are called.

Oh and when I logged in I saw I already had an invite to XPLOR, so I said ef it and left my last org and joined them :p

Edit: Decided to just keep and not mess with my Digital Bounty Hunter - LTI package. Will work out I got it for free and made a profit in the end. lol :D

Theres a reason why you already have an invite, and its the very reason a lot of people dislike them, they basically spam PM'd every single account via a script, saying "they're interested in [any role except pirate/crime] and we noticed you're also onto [any role except pirate/crime] and thought you might like to join" blablabla.

This was about 2.5yrs ago, they went from being a fairly insignificant org to being the largest by some margin in a month.
Personally, i wouldnt touch an org that i didnt have some sort of connection with in some way, even if its just through chatting to someone in-game and getting to know them, and wouldnt really want to be in one more than 100 or so ppl in there. If half the people have zero connection to them, aside from being sent spam, theirs no loyalty, no value in any of it. IMO you'd be better off joining one of the orgs with a few members on here. Im in a tiny org with BF friends i've played with for years, and visit the Bit-Tech SC thread (the only thread too, but i check their site for tech news daily) and joined their org which has a little over 100 iirc. I dont KNOW them, met a couple of them at CitCon last year (stupidly forgot to look on here for others) but talking SC with them for years you get to know their passion for it and at least know a fair amount of the members. It just becomes fairly empty when theres 10,000 members and you know none of them.

Would have said so earlier, but forgot about that comment.

I think i only paid about $50 for an AMD Gold reward code, got SC, Alien Isolation, and Sniper Elite 3. Worked out at roughly a tenner for each, and i sold AI to a mate for a tenner even though it was going for double in MM cos i was getting a decent enough deal for just the SC package. Surprised its going for $100, cos theres people on reddit selling them for about $60-70 iirc. Need to be careful though with digital goods cos how do you prove a transaction happened if someones planning to exploit it.

edit - I also got an invite a month or 2 back from some nobody org saying they were impressed with my profile. Its empty. Very impressive.

That amused me so much when it happened, everyone thought they were a special ********* until news started to spread. The org is apparently run by a drama queen so it'll likely implode when Star Citizen goes live, I hope not though, we need large orgs, just as we need smaller ones.

Fair point guys. I did not know about them or much else until today catching up a little. The reason I decided to join them was because i will likely be exploring (if it is better than boring elite) which is what they are all about, also because they are very big and therefore it will likely mean being in charge of large sectors and have lots of people as backup. Also I won't have the time to commit to it I don't think, so it just seems to fit my casual play style.

Smaller groups would be better for dedicated players in my opinion. If I had the time for it, I would much rather be in a smaller org myself.

No big deal if the org folds, I just join another :p

It was funny I saw the invite, it was from 2014. I was thinking of joining them before that, so the invite made it very easy

There's a few PAGAN folk in XPLOR, to be honest I think anyone only in one org is a little weird as the game will suit being in several at once. They are essentially networks of people to play with.

The only thing to watch out for is they'll be able to tax members..

Weird? I don't follow. I understand it might not be the most effective way to play. But i don't think it is in anyway weird for some of us to not particularly want to be associated/tied to so many orgs.

To many people and to much going on and possibly to many obligations to come out of it. I would much rather stay in my own org of 10 ish people ( close gaming family ) and go about our business and potentially after a few months introduce a couple of people at a time and see if there is a potential for us to build a small business to slot into the bigger picture.
