******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Not sure if I'll be able to use it to be honest as never used a joystick before at all.
You can buy a cheap-ish £20 joystick just to see how you get on. It's quite intuitive anyway, TBH.

I went down that road and almost immediately wished I'd bought one with loads more buttons, as they're so useful. Now I have a CH Products set and you won't catch me using anything else for things like Elite.

However... My biggest concern is switching from flying spaceships with HOTAS to going FPS with WASD KB&M for all the walking around and shooting stuff outside the ship.
Despite having a largeish desk, I just don't have the room for both in any comfortable setup. So for SC, I'm sticking with KB&M.

Hop on with Humbug, myself and the others. It's way more fun when all crewing a ship or going around in a little fleet! Friday's at 9pm usually!

Thanks for the offer guys, I'll definitely take you up on that! It'd be nice to actually learn about what I can and cant do too and be shown around :D

Thanks man, yeah I guess that is something to consider about all the switching, luckily my desk is pretty huge! .. I'll try with KB and M for now and see how I get on for a while. See if I still have the urge for a joystick.

No worries, tours are our second speciality, our first is dying horribly :D

I'm switching back and forth between HOTAS and kb/m, honestly can't say which I prefer, KB/M is certainly more convenient for exiting the ship etc and I've got a Roccat Tyon so "roll" is on the mouse which feels really good.. but I don't find it as engaging or intuitive as HOTAS when flying :(

I always used HOTAS in Elite and games before that so perhaps that's part of the issue. It's ingrained now!

good session tonight guys :D

It was :)

I just bought a Constellation Taurus.

I don't need to melt it if i want a fighter instead of a multi-crew ship, it comes with a Hornet loaner as-well an Andromeda loaner and Hanger Ready MK3 Taurus, which looks so different to the MK4 like you see with the Andromeda, it actually looks comically bad in comparison...

If you want into SC cheap this is the cheapest it'll be for at least another year:

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/Packages/Aurora-MR-SC-Starter-UEE-Warbond-Version

at time of posting: 2149 left

$42.00 USD
Tax Included: VAT 20%

You'll still need to buy Squadron 42 (wtf no idea why it's not included this year) though but the multiplayer game is all there.

Edit: SQ42 might be added later, get the feeling it's an error on the site.

Gone..... 2149 all gone!

Any eta on 2.6? I really want to play Star Marine!

Its coming up, keep your eye on this thread.

The estimates we provide are just that: estimates. They are based on our knowledge and experience, but there are many aspects of game development that are impossible to predict because they literally cover uncharted territory.
