******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Lol, you wished the only other engine capable is the UE4 engine :p

Would that be the one with hard-baked projected lighting and synthetic looking texture shading?

Yes other engines are more capable, Unity has come a long way, almost to the point where Cryengine was with Crysis 3.

:p

well it wasnt a push for more money for once, so that was a surprise.
Also releasing the timeline is just going to mildly please some rabid fans, delays will occur and its generally a bit useless and likely will get them more criticism in the long run.

It just started like an I like you you but it's not working letter to me, was much happier by the end of it although don't see the point in all the pandering to people, but i am in the I've given you money just go for it group of backers.

Do we think when 3.0 releases they will show 3.5 straight away? :D

I reckon ship prices and game packages will go up once it does as more jump on this.

Pledge ships prices always go up, cheapest at concept then rise each time they're on "sale" ironically. The only ones which stay the same (except war bond versions) are usually those in the store all the time.

Only exception I can see so far is the Banu Merchantman, which is likely to be offered yet again in unlimited quantity completely at odds with it's lore of being a family heirloom handed down from generation to generation which has found it's way into UEE hands.. Honestly, lore takes a back seat now and then to raising funds.. at least with that and the Freelancer MIS (another lore "limited" ship) which is constantly on sale.

I've no problems with tons of people owning these, just wish they'd alter the lore to suit.

Not sure if I'll be able to use it to be honest as never used a joystick before at all.

Just looking for a more engaging experience to accompany playing this on the new UW monitor.

I dont want to spend a lot in case I hate it.

Get the Hotas X then mate, it's the best of both worlds but don't be too hard on yourself if you struggle at all - a good quality stick makes an average pilot a good pilot lol There are a lot more options in the client now for tweaking axis sensitivity, deadzones etc.

I should know, I used an X52 for years and was pretty dire, got the T16000m, paired it with a CH pro throttle and now I'm at least vaguely competent ! :D

Haha, that's good to know because I am a god awful pilot. I'm dangerous in anything airborne in Arma2/3. Not in a good way of "my enemies should fear me" either.

I'll hold off buying any joystick at the moment then but will keep your suggestions in mind because I won't actually get time to play on the PC really until Santa brings my new monitor anyways :( ... but I'll hope a stonking deal on a better joystick pops up in the meantime.

The game players pretty well with keyboard/mouse by the way especially if you have something like a Roccat Tyon which has a little analog axis on it you can use for roll, but even without it many players swear by it - rather than a HOTAS :)

Ahh ok thanks, maybe I wont need HOTAS at all. It's just that one I originally linked is going for just under £30 on the rainforest currently.

Tbh, I've only played Star Citizen once since owning it - more just that I want to wait for more features before jumping back online. Im absolutely dying to get on again now but dont wanna get bored due to lack of things to do and lose my interest in the game.

Hop on with Humbug, myself and the others. It's way more fun when all crewing a ship or going around in a little fleet! Friday's at 9pm usually!
