Also am i mad for thinking about upgrading my Carrack to a 600i?
Woah, yes you are mad! :D

600i is a damn sexy ship and definitely the best (my opinion) thing since the Carrack concept, but the Carrack is still awesome. Besides you don't want to end up regretting it once it gets its rework which may include significant design changes.

I ccu'd my BMM to the 600i Explorer, so now I have both 600iE and Carrack in the same package (UEE Explorer pack). Had the good fortune of ccuing the Terrapin to BMM before its price hike making the jump to 600i even smaller - pretty good value in that pack). Intending to use 600iE as multirole including things like bounty hunting and other random missions in civilised areas, and Carrack will be the "boldly go" into unknown territory or areas far from centres of civilisation.

Alright i'll keep the Carrack! maybe i'll pick up a Constellation phoenix later this year when the sale is on as i want a luxury ship. I have almost a ship for every role between me and my uncle. So we're sorted :)

Comparing the new "adverts" to the old adverts is like comparing English adverts to american adverts.

One is clearly better than the other.

The "meet" videos tend to be about simplistic views showing it off quickly, rather than the hype of the old adverts tbh.

Love the Aquila's sensor turret btw, hadn't noticed that before.

Weak, weak trolling magnolia. Plenty of us have played this and find it more engaging than spending our lives posting **** on OCUK.

well he's not really wrong, I imagine his viewpoint is shared by many. I got it a year ago and never touch it for simple reason there really isn't anything to do of interest yet... it's basically a tech demo at the moment.

I'd doubt that this will ever be as interesting as eve to read about haha
Eve has far more scope for creating political movements and economic effects that fuel wars and rebellion.

While it'll be more fun to be part of something big, as when you're in the middle of a major Eve event it's pretty boring and takes days/weeks to actually happen

doesn't look to change either, the reports from gamescon said there was little new there and nowt jawdropping.

Well, no.... Gamescom was restricted to one moon, QT was switched off so you couldn't go anywhere, there was even less in it than what's in the current build.
They did this for two reasons, one; because 100's queued to play it they had to restrict gameplay to 15 minutes each and that's not enough time to go gallivanting around, two; because there were only 10 players at a time they didn't want them spread-out, they wanted to encourage interaction between players.

What was at Gamescom was just a tiny snippet of 3.0.

Sorry Halfmad, I have to agree with [FnG]magnolia. SC is starting to become a stale running joke. I just don't like the flight mechanics. They should have got Squadron 42 out of the window. Then press on with the Persistant Universe. Get the core and foundations sound. Then build up and around. They seem to be doing in in lego block style, and fitting the different blocks together. Too many bugs to track and control, when trying to build the entire complete game of this magnitude first time.

I played the original Wing Commanders, to WC5 Prophecy. I am a Star Citizen backer, with 10/10/10 golden ticket. This game is full of promise on paper, yet it's a short tech demo with bugs for download.
