******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

AcCorp looked good, strange to see it at dusk :D Looking down on it from orbit was impressive as well. Nice to see Hurston too.

The city tech demo looked super cool, I hope they can actually implement it in the game. The physics though god they're bad. They just ruin everything for me.

I'm happy with the way it's going 3.0 is a lot of fun to test so obviously will only get better now. The city stuff is probably a long way off from playable

These are some teaser screen caps for any noobs that might come across this, i'm downloading and editing out all the crap in the video, with Gamescon CIG did that a few days later and uploaded a better quality one, they don't always do that so for now i'll do it.

Walking, flying and driving around is not exactly gameplay, is it? 2017 is almost over and they're still in tech demo phase.

Yeah totally, that 3.0 that Humbug and I have been playing for weeks isn't a game, it's no fun.. no wait it's extremely good fun and jaw dropping.

If the mechanics that we're seeing in the alpha "aren't a game" then neither is any other game running on PC today. Is it a complete game? absolutely not, but it's getting close to pushing boundaries. If you want the usual nonsense then keep throwing money at EA and Ubisoft, you might as well get an Xbox and say "I settle for whatever *** you deem fit for me". Personally I'll keep supporting CIG and many indy devs as those are the ones coming out with interesting gameplay and not sitting with the same old recycled garbage and sequels.

Why aren't they showing what you two are playing? This is the most important moment of the year, they should be out with guns blazing, not 40 mins locomotion simulator, Xi`an physiology etc.

I was actually thinking the same. Where were the gameplay loops they promised? Mining, exploration, science/research, interdictions etc. 3.0 release date? It seems to me that they put all their efforts on tech demos just to keep the funding coming while things that were shown 3 years ago are not even remotely close to release: https://youtu.be/7Gx-3iwXvoQ?t=2m35s

It's working great for them too. The fanbase stopped the whining for now and opened their wallets drooling from that tech demo. Next year this time we'll be here again and the actual game will have made little to no progress.

because it's not ready yet and if they did people would point out that it's what they showed this time last year..

It's frustratingly close

Most interesting scam I've ever seen so far I'm $200 in sell me more JPEGs will pay more.

It doesn't take much for people to scream scam when they haven't read the whole lore of the game (i still haven't) and followed the progress its made. If they would have released this in 2014 the game would have looked pants with the engine and tools they had then looking back at the videos from the kickstarter to now things have moved on at a rapid pace some would argue not quick enough but its been 5 short years and those early ones were permissible as the crew was a small one up until the funding reached a level where they could outsource and bring in talented teams (they still advertise for jobs now)

What they show in exhibitions and the like is gameplay tech demos of things coming soon ™ *Subject to change* which sometimes people fail to understand they have to represent the game in a good light as its not all about the backers. Press are there and publicity trumps anyone putting new money into the game. People then get their panties in a twist because they play the alpha and get upset they cant do what they have seen.

Also with this new intel tie in if i see one more youtuber jump on the bandwagon being salty it will be too soon. I don't blame them for doing it as its a business they are running, people freaking out about a ship that will eventually be in the game once (not the same iteration of course) the promotion lapses don't take it to heart nobody is making you buy a raven to get a free optane drive. With all the new add on components coming to ships you can spec it out to be much better anyway.

I would say to anyone thinking of ploughing money into ships, its not required and you will eventually be able to get them all in game to some extent anyway. If you want to support future development and bring in new cash go ahead i know i will be doing so for the foreseeable.

Ok Fanboi hat off.

Where is that raven sale anyway...
