******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

The Cryengine really is trying it’s hardest mate. It’s the Tryengine trying to be Flyengine.

Same to #@!~ you too :p

@mohawk this is what i was really looking for, city planet this time.

More "work in progress" but hey this game is being developed on the fly and this is their way of showing us what's happening. If you get the time to watch it all do.

I can't imagine 'many' people will buy it after release as anyone interested surely has helped with investment to date.
I honestly believe the approach they are taking to try to do it all is a mistake. They have too much money to allow them to what they want though.
Andi.

They have thousands of subscribers who will happily continue to pay a sub after release if that money goes into cosmetics and game development, we know this as the subscribers regularly poll themselves to find out their opinions on matters like this.

The game won't stop developing at release (assuming it ever fully releases), Squadron 42 comes out in episodes but here will be additional expansions (think WoW) after that for single player and likely multiplayer will be a never ending feast too.

@d_brennen the laws of physics don't "rough approximate" your position relative to the planets surface or the planet to our local star, for good reason, if it did you're in a lot of trouble.

Absolute position in a grid is easy, X/Y/Z. Simulating orbital mechanics all while purposely tweaking reality to make space jet fighters go pew pew at each other is a bit much. It is a game after all, or rather it might be, one day.

I only hope ramming at speed is a viable tactic for fleet battles. Energies carried by large interstellar spaceships in motion would put all other weapons to shame

Don't forget that you can buy in game currency with real money, so the whales will be pouring money into the game to get ahead.

Don’t know if you are aware but there are a lot of caps surrounding this.

You can only buy a small amount in a period of time, and there is also a cap as to how much you can have.

I agree sorry

7fps :D

lol not for me, i have had 100 fps recently and on planet surface yesterday in my Ursa Rover i was a steady 40 most the time.

Now i do have drops in frame rates to 11 but never seen lower than that, and its momentary drops not constant.

The 100 fps was when i was in a server and there was only 4 people in the server at the time.

Version 3.2? That's weird, version 1.0 is normally a launch version! Imagine if this doesn't ever get released or RSI ends up folding? The lawsuits alone will be hilarious!
