I think it could be done really well with careful sound design. Ambient sounds of your ship, sensors, proximity voices for people nearby, radio chatter etc. Then ambient stuff being yanked away when depressurised for example. Don't let CIG know I said that, it would easily be another 5 years to implement
To some extent they do a bit of this already, the audio changes when you are in a depressurised environment and I believe I remember seeing reference to an emp potentially taking out your sensors that are relaying the sounds etc
On a side note I always used to play star citizen with just my TV speakers, recently started using my headphones and wow what a difference. From the crunch of snow under my boots to the sounds of my ship, it was incredible how much detail I was missing... the sound design on this game is incredible.
So, how do people actually have fun in this game.
Having a go of the free fly event, 3 server disconnects and 15 mins of qt to do a eliminate mission, to then have a 10 minute pew pew and then he crashes into me killing me instantly.

we had so much fun in the Alpha 2.6 and there was barley anything you could do... you make your own fun.
Does anyone think it will be released this/next year?
