I see you have not RTM’ed what you think breaks the forum rules yet you have no problem having a pop at the moderation. We can not cover every post, if you think something is out of line then help us help you.

We have no issue with people putting their own personal opinions across but it does not need staring over and over again.
 
I think the issue here is they haven't really addressed the development time issues. If they wore their heart on their sleeve instead of continued marketing then people might be less sceptical. They should be realistic and put a larger timescale on things and over deliver if possible but I understand that putting time on anything just breeds false expectations and can be worse.

It's an interesting project from a game development point-of-view and I can see why fans are frustrated by the constant trashing because there is more to discuss aside from the timescales and scam claims. It's not a black hole of money though, they are open with their development updates and updates to the team. There's a lot of people being employed so it's no bad thing and if only too big of an ambition is the downfall of the game then it's no different to many projects that don't end up hitting the market after vast costs. It happens all the time. It's just that how this was funded and how public it is that makes people attack it.
 
I see you can now rent a few ships in-game... but can you buy any?
The website suggests you can buy A ship from B ship dealer on C planet/station and has purchase prices listed, but I only found one tiny ship that looked to be for sale at the dealer in (I think) Area 18.....

Just wondering if I can buy a Terrapin.

You can indeed buy all sorts of ships in game currently from single seater right up to the Hammerhead & 890jump.

They have addressed many of the issues in development but many just ignore the nitty gritty info they release every week.

They have said why some things have been delayed such as the recent theatres of war game mode(TDLR; it got delayed because the first test they done to a select few was bad. unplayable framerates and trerrible map/gameplay) Most of that has been addressed for instance and now they are fleshing out the last 2 phases of that game mode.

There is literally soo much info and news we can actually talk about on this thread but nope. its ridden with many people trolling and bashing the game.

It may as well be a "SC Scam" thread in all honestly.

I think i am done posting any relivent news and info here and think i will un-sub from this thread.
 
Yeh I kinda gloss over this thread too, not enough people engaging in conversation around the positive aspects of the game to really keep a conversation going. Mostly talk SC with a bunch of mates on Discord instead.
There seems to be decent progress being made on various elements of the game right now and plenty of details and teasers being released about upcoming features. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Crusader areas in particular.

Invictus 2951 soon. We get to tour around a Javelin ingame. Going to be sweet! Will try out a bunch of different ships some more and consider whether I want to upgrade my Aurora MR pack to something better.
 
There also talk/rumours that CIG kinda confirmed there will be a Bengal Carrier in the game during Invictus 2951 which would be pretty sweet to see this 1km long ship in the game if it does happen.

Found it. Somehow I managed to miss the terminals in Astro Armada...
Annoyingly, I have an absolute stack of rental credits, but you can only rent in Arena Commander, not the actual PU... I really fancied looking around inside some of those ships!

Ah fair bud. Yeah I have literally never loaded up Arena Commander other than to fix a login issue to the PU at one point.
 
There are plenty of ships you can rent in the PU.
Check the link I provided a few posts up. It lists all the ships available for rent and sale with their locations.

Also, the Terrapin is pretty useless. I wouldn't bother.

I was at Traveller Rentals just last night. They only had four ships available and none of them were the Terrapin.
Moreover, that link suggests that the 'rental' price on the Terrapin is the exact same amount as the full purchase price... I do not believe the list is accurate in that regard.

Depends what you wanna do with it... I just think it's a cool design and I love the cockpit layout, so wanted a proper 'in-person' look around the whole thing.
 
It seems that the rental listings are still on 3.12 there. Oh well, at least the sale listings are up to date.

Ed: Anyway, fleetweek soon, so you'll be able to try anything for free.
