I will send that video to a mate who is interested in trying out this gameMorphologis has done a handy video with an overview of how to check out the Invictus content when it goes live on Friday for any newbie players.
Yeh Star Citizen loves an SSD, NVMe if possible. They should really make it more clear on installing the game that you really do not want it on a normal mechanical disk right now.I have to say, I've been enjoying the Invictus stuff so far and it's been massively better after I reinstalled SC onto SSD. It seems the game doesn't like HDDs so much.
But while most of the big lag has gone, it's still full of minor lags with glitches and bugs on everything, while still feeling like it's all done with annoying QTEs. I might have to try VR and see if my HOTAS will work.
I'm also expecting the game universe to ultimately be as shallow as Elite Dangerous. There's more glitz and detail on everything, with lore dotted all over, but there still feels like no reason to actually do anything.

Oh that's a shame.SC doesnt have VR and your HOTAS will work fine on SC.
in regards to SC being as shallow as ED, i dont think it will for the given reasons:
- 90% of the universe will be NPC driven
- The new reputation system will allow limitless things to do
Wouldn't worry about not being listed as having supported profiles. At worst that just means you'll bind all your keybinds as you chose.HOTAS should work, as it's a CH set, but you never know... It's not on the list of supported profiles.
Yeah, that's how it ought to work. CH is so old everyone should cater for it and it's recognised as pretty much a standard Windows controller.Wouldn't worry about not being listed as having supported profiles. At worst that just means you'll bind all your keybinds as you chose.
Sounds interesting. Do you have any pics? For comparison, I use a VKB Gladiator NXT as my stick and use a DIY "throttle" setup I've built with an Arduino Micro.
Looks like this right now. Very ghetto, but functional.Sounds interesting. Do you have any pics?
If I had the time and 'skillz', I'd love to build a custom HOTAS. I had thought I'd end up modding the CH, once upon a time, but so far it's not actually felt necessary.

For comparison, I use a VKB Gladiator NXT as my stick and use a DIY "throttle" setup I've built with an Arduino Micro. Bunch of analog sticks, slide pots, rotary encoders and microswitches all in some 3d printed enclosure. Ignoring the iffy solder joint I can't track down affecting one of the axis it works great! Currently working on a V2 of it which instead of an analog stick for forward/back throttle will have a jog wheel using a hall effect sensor + magnets, with a spring loaded gimbal setup to return it to centre. Plus other changes![]()
