******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

I can't wait for the patch now, something has gone very wrong with my account! I have no mobiglass, a very random armour combo and every time I spawn a ship, the UEE destroy it on the pad yet I have no crime stat showing (I literally just got out of jail!)

Talking a future SC careers, I'll be mining, salvage and deep space exploration
 
There seems to have been a split between servers on Live. Started happening the same time I gained 14 Avenger Titans on the ship list :D You can login and have one set of gear, relog and you'll have another. From what I've seen so far it's all been gear I've been wearing at one point or another during a crash.

Think this is the last day to get the Guided ship paints so if anyone want to spend 30mins doing a few missions in Live before this evening let me know.
 
An important thing I spotted from the short vid I saw was everyone walking slowly. The physics engine really doesn't like objects colliding at speed. Died more than a few times now by people running into me and pushing me into walls, doors, rocks. :)

Reminds me of Fallout games.

Time to give it another run, see if I can hit something this time!

Edit: Managed to get to 8/9 on Vanduul Swarm. Only ship I can get to work well so far is the Aegis Avenger Titan.

Jumped onto PTU for the past 4 hours to see Siege of Orison. Encountered various jankiness, including a particularly frustrating weapon bug where I couldn't unequip a problematic weapon - it would immediately just teleport back into my hand. This then escalated after unequipping all my items, dropping said weapon this way and then being unable to use any other weapons. Got a friend to kill me, he found the bugged weapon on my body, removed it and this fixed it for me.... But then gave him the same bug I was having! :cry:

AI issues aside, Siege of Orison has some nice potential. Finally an interesting FPS mission. During the run we got 25 of us into a Pisces and flew to a different platform and got shot down, lots of hilarity from that and then very interesting to find all our bodies still on the same platform probably 2 hours later! Server ended up with pretty poor performance in the end, think the enemies stopped even spawning or shooting back, but we couldn't complete it. Hopefully they can fix the niggles and get it live effectively
 
Has there been any further hints as to when the Update is gonna drop? I'm getting to the point where I've kinda got to grips with the game. I'm starting to haul in decent money and really dont want to invest too much more when I'm gonna lose it all in days/weeks. I was kinda hoping it would happen late this week/weekend but yeah that ship sailed. I guess its a blessing that I'm away with work most of next week as I'm itching to just get on with it start progressing. Hopefully they will pull the pin mid/late next week and when I get back I can get stuck in!

The last hint was from the man himself christ roberts stating that they hoped it wold have dropped by now.

I think it will most definetly release sometime this comming week. so between the next 24hours to the following weekend lol
 

Now, I know that we previously said we had no plans for an increase in player cap on the live servers... however the results of said tests have been so promising, that things have changed. For this reason, we are now exploring increasing the cap for the live release of Alpha 3.17.2. We're still testing/reviewing and will share more information, including what cap we end up going with, very soon.

It's looking promising. Will be interesting to see what 3.17.2 is like. Just practicing flying skills in Arena commander, still room for improvement but feeling much better now. Can you target more to than one ship? When I try it just seems to switch to a new one? I ask as I saw I think it was 5 key cycles between hostile targets.
