******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

it's one of the reasons I tend not to post on the main forums and prefer our discord. The responses are generally ***** or mods needing with things.

been like that for years. entirely GDs fault as it's always been a mess, but the mods treat the whole site the same.

I honestly think there's a degree of "don't care" involved purely as the forums require so many mods and at least one full time employee to keep them in check. It's gone the way of the sub reddit to a degree with mods out for their own agenda or closing threads down without really bothering. There's a damn good chance your thread was reported several times by community members btw, that's the way of the forum. I'm still shocked my 600 aye commercial is still up there in the origin section.

I don't see the need for panic tbh. between now and a few weeks ago the only real things that have happened have been a poor ship concept and an ongoing lack of patching content.

the latter frankly has been a problem all year lol

Sadly I'll be without a PC by then I think for a month or two!

I think Evocati will be out before Citizencon, which makes me wonder what the reveal could be other than SQ42 slice.

giving pc to wife and I'll get a new one later on after I've spent a few weeks sorting the house out. too lazy to crack on when I can sit and play games lol

eyeing up threadripper tbh

They don't have to provide refunds because of the T&Cs and disclaimers on all the ship pages about this being a pledge for development etc.

They just aren't being ***** about it.

What a lot of people fail to realise is that are several multi millionaires as backers. this is pocket change to them, I know two guys in this category who have put in far more than that either on their own accounts or by gifting gift cards etc to others. I also know many people who have made a mint off star citizen due to rich folks throwing money at the grey market for "rare" items, which is common in every game even older ones like counterstrike.

I dont' think it's meant to be an insult, Hambag's PC was still processing his comment when he hit post, lack of CPU cores can cause this sort of corruption..

That's hilarious if true. It would give more fuel to the rumours that they will never manage to do what they promised in cryengine, its just not meant for a game like star citizen. Btw, there was no chance that the NDA would hold in such a high profile crowdfunded game.

There are several Evocati members on here, I can promise DS won't be one.

I probably won't get a chance to try it until tomorrow but it'll likely be a barely functional mess to begin with. Usually is.

I'm not expecting this to be out of Evocati anytime soon, it took a year to get in there after all. I just hope Evocati don't end up being the scapegoats if this drags on lol

If I was a game developer who put out stuff like that I'd be hiding my head, not calling attention to myself by critisising others. It's like me commenting publicly and slagging off other people's Youtube channels when mine is pants lol

They've been doing refunds for years, I doubt they'll stop allowing them for quite some time, likely only shortly before release. The fact they do them makes me pretty confident about their financial position it's likely a fraction of what they take in per day even on quiet days.

They are under no obligation to do refunds, they do it because some people jump in far too deep too quickly.. eh Floppy? ;)
