******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

So after my mate banging on for a year to me to get this game i finally bit the bullet and bought it, im not into flying type games at all but i kinda like this, im flying using a mix of controller and keyboard lol sounds weird i know but its sort of working for me.

The game has quite a learning curve when it comes to flying the craft mostly due to all the buttons it takes to fly the thing, i do find the game kind of relaxing though and not as stressful as i thought it would be.

Im terrible at flying though, dont get me wrong lol and only use the spacecraft as a means to get from one planet mission to another, ive been avoiding all the flying bounty type missions haha but thats the beauty of this game,
there is so much to do you dont have to engage in dog fights etc unless you really have to and there seems to be plenty of ground based missions :)

Performance sucks for me though, i average around 40fps but can go down into 30s, sometimes im in the 50fps range @1440p with my setup on medium, its still quite smooth though so playable, hopefully the next update improves performance a little

Overal im enjoying it so far and its not a bad game, the amount of bugs are funny as hell though lol ive had some crackers haha

Is there some kind of rough idea of when they are going to sort out player animations (third person animations i guess) and the laggy movement of players ? The last time i tried the game it was terrible, everyone just laggily sprinting everywhere, almost as if they aren't connected to the ground.

Also what are the best youtube channels for updates on development ? not really bothered about gameplay etc

Set graphical quality to high instead of Medium. Sounds counter intuitive, but the game is basically always CPU limited. Setting the graphics to high puts more load onto the GPU and tends to give a better overall experience unless you have a really low end GPU (alongside a high end CPU)
That said, performance still won't be great. But the next patch allegedly has improvements.

Next weekend is sounding reasoanbly possible from what they're saying. Although I've been hearing the builds they've been pushing out are getting worse in quality / stability.

This game is relaxing for me, just spent the best part of 2hrs to complete a simple box mission, nothing complicated, no pew pewing, just travel to a wreckage, retrieve a package and deliver it, just doing these missions is enjoyable to me
and im not sure why as it should be boring lol

Starting to get a little more into the game now although i think i will never be good or put much time into dogfighting and flying type bounty missions

It’s a very chilled game if you want it to be.

I was more of a looking for trouble kind of player by the end. I was in prison more than anything else :D

Encountered my first space pirates today, was quantum shifting towards an objective when pirates blocked the quantum drive and started shooting at me, im terrible at flying and there was 4 of them, started shooting at one of them when another hit me with missiles
and took my shields down, then i survived another 10 seconds until they blew me to kingdom come lol

Wouldnt of minded but i was in quantum drive for a good 10 mins as the mission was MILES away, DAMN YOU pesky pirates lol

Fixed - Network - Desychronization / Stall - Streaming locations during quantum travel can cause server-wide lag spikes for all clients

aahhhaaaa.......

Also...

Fixed - Locations - Landing area is offset from the Hangar floor preventing item clean up when streamed out
Fixed - Self-destructing multiple ships full of cargo in the same area can severely drop server and client performance

This build contains multiple improvements to help with server and client performance
