******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

So, my and my friend bought this with the intent on doing missions, mining and other stuff together, it didn't go as planned.

We both bought one of the low end packages, £60 for the Aegis Titan (I think)

When we initially spawned into the game, we were both like "holy ****" look at this, it's beautiful because it really is.

However after a few hours of play it was clear that there are problems, my friend got stuck in a wall then killed by a lift - my ship glitched and spun around in the hangar, we ran into so many problems it was unreal.

I started off doing some of the basic missions, collect a box from a space station - drop it off at a dropoff point, the first one I did - the box disappeared. The second one - when I went to the drop off point to deliver the box, the door to the drop off point gibbed me instantly. I also lost all my stuff.

This went on and on from Friday to yesterday night, and we're like "wtf is this" and got our refunds.

10 years and what $600M spent, it's so arse-about-face it's inexcusable.

It is an alpha still, and the situations described are expected at this point. I'd also say that the current iteration of the game only really started with 3.0 which was 5 years ago so still fairly early in development. As Chris Roberts recently said as well SQ42 is close to being feature complete, which would mean beta could be soon (2024 probably)

I'm expecting beta to be 4.0 and I don't expect 4.0 any time prior to maybe 2028 at the earliest.

No chance 4.0 is beta unless that comes out with the following gameplay /features

Base building
Gold tier complete versions of bounty hunting, salvage, cargo etc etc.
New damage mapping /physics for all materials in game
Full quanta simulation done
Full crafting.
Drones.

List goes on. Basically you can't call sc beta until more or less all the intended gameplay is in and none of the above have been mentioned to be part of 4.0

Ok fine, 2030 ! :D

Is base building actually going to be a thing? Would it be list Rust where you get obliterated when you're offline.

Yes but not like Rust where you have panels n' stuffs.

Its prefab sections. And yes it will need defences when you're off line tho the game is so big it would be hard to find someones base.

Ah and once again the inventory on the home loc will be filled with a ton of stuff to filter through.

Farewell Port Olisar.

My first ever recorded Star Citizen video, i start at Port Olisar, of course.

Shame Seraphim station is just another generic copy/paste interior.
Would be nice to one day have all these stations showing some individuality both inside and out like all the other landing zones.

Jumptown starts again on Thursday and 3.20's coming out tomorrow, if all goes well they say.

Dont forget to save your settings and binds just in case they get wiped with the update. It's a good idea as well to claim all your ships to avoid loosing them during the update.
