******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Meh it's a ship, it's changing, there hundreds to pick from. They all get tweaked and changed all the time. Just enjoy what you do and when they change it check something else out.

I don't think it's a smart change but when AI blades come on then possibly it will be remedied and in meantime I'd just use something else. Tbh the better solution if it didn't fall in the matrix where they wanted was just to remove those guns and move on.

Its king again because the Corsair has had one arm tied behind its back.... :P

Connie was crippled way before the Corsair was released to get suckers to buy one. there just putting back in line before giving the connie it's teeth back so we can really upset the donks who bought a crapsair ;)

Personally I'm fed up waiting for something to come out of CIG that isn't broken, I tried the latest PTU build 3.24.2 and its a mess. Who ever is in charge of the UI design and new MFDs I mean really, do they not understand contrast and readability.

They like the transparent UI stuff, which looks good in 8K 12Bit rendered cinematics but in 8Bit 1080P the colour space blends and you end up with a fuzzy low contrast image, its CR, he likes movie stuff in the game. The "Ironman UI" literally, they hired the guy who did the Ironman UI.

So that's a no then, just jumped onto the live server to give it a go again, literally cannot even complete a mission without the game crashing or running into some other game breaking bug or issue.

I mean the F16 from the 70s knew how to do it, why can't CIG in 2024, UI Hud elements should be clear enough to be understood at a glance. I shouldn't have to concentrate or squint to see something. As Avenger-one put it, if it takes more than 0.5 seconds to read it, it's not good enough.

They used to try and get around it with drop shadows, that's drop shadows with nothing to drop the shadow on to, it looked awful and even less readable, i'm glad they got past that and the 3.24.2 UI is an improvement on 3.24.1, and it looks decent but as always with CIG they go from fixing one extreme to making it the opposing extreme.
They wanted to declutter the field of view, they have done that but in doing so they moved the speed indicator to the top of the dash where its lost among other poorly designed decluttering like the thrust output / throttle position indicator and flight mode indicators, if you can find the cruse made active / inactive indicator within 10 minutes of looking for it i'll be impressed, it is there.... and then they ran out of space, so they moved the fuels levels in to the HUD ship status UI, its now capacity readouts instead of bars.

It deffo feasible. I expect they are still aiming for more but the fact is it really makes 4.0 and this year a possible still. I don't think right now as per reason they not moving code over makes sense. It doesn't gain much right now. After IAE is when I see the 4.0 evo dropping tbh. 3.23.2 is being pushed quick relative at min. They can keep pushing data in 3.24.2 and drop things in as needed. Then after IAE push the SM back into the branch based on the test previous we got so far. I know they wanted to push 2000 player last version.

Aye yeah after their Anniversary sale mid to end November that seems around then a 4.0 Evo patch. 8 Weeks of 3.24.2 being built on and added too with ships etc. In background secondary branch is able to then have 4.0 evo on basically same build with them moving in SM and Engineering gameplay (room system, fire etc with that).

And be testing Evocati whilst live on 3.24.2 being able to still get data etc. Then there always option for Pyro to be in preview channel but tbh based on what known I don't really see point. It is mostly built out and running, planets and moons certainly in, POI in and just hooking up missions etc. So why split player base more. Just let them run with it, add to 4.0 as it is ready. If the next preview patch for SM works out (next week some time at moment expected) and they get up to the 2k player in it works well I can see that being where they stop at in terms of release. I mean 1k would be huge in itself.

All these other games being noted on UE5 are still in development too and most are still in prototype phase for their meshing side. Although awesome they are currently just as far away and been working on it for 2-3-4 years themselves. Don't trust Pax Dei as they already broken people trust with things and low player counts down to the 400 ish numbers so as much as they think their tech will do 8,500 player no idea and they seem to be doing players in layers so not sure if that means servers layered and you can see everyone in those layers or it instanced layers though.

Not sure if I've posted it already but had a little fleet update.

Since April I've added the F8C Lightning from the recent golden ticket event, F7A Hornet MKII using a previous event upgrade token, A medical Pisces and an ATLS.
