Is the young fella, Coleman, not up to the task? I had heard good things about him when on loan last season.

That rumour was started by Harry Harris I believe, the same idiot who claimed we'd definitely signed Aguero in January, probably best to just ignore him.

A few clubs came sniffing around Riera yesterday and today a £5 million Euro deal's been agreed for him.
Not too bothered about him leaving but it seems to be another deal Hodgson has had nothing to do with. Last year our biggest problem was not having a big enough squad to cope with the likes of Torres and Gerrard getting injured. To combat that problem we're selling the remainder of our squad players...

After whats been said I cant say that I am sad to see the back of Riera, frankly I would have let him go for £1 million just to be shot of him.
It is somewhat concerning that Hodgson appears to be having no say in any of this, I was a touch alarmed at his interview the other day where he said "if you want to talk about transfer targets then you need to speak with Christian Purslow as he knows about those, I'm here to coach the team". That kind of sounded to me like he is here as a training coach and will be having no say in comings and goings.

When he arrived it was reported he would be given £15 million plus whatever money he got from sales. Within two weeks that figure apparently turned in to £3 million and he won't be getting all the money from player sales.
In a away I feel sorry for him but at the same time I'm livid it appears he joined the club knowing he would have to stand back and let this happen.
I think we can all safely say that's what's happening.
Most clubs either let the manager buy and sell players or have another person who does the dirty work once the manager has identified targets. We seem to be the only club that has a banker deciding who will or won't play for the club. We're like a bad knock knock joke x 1 million
I look forward to hearing what the ****s like Whelan and Redknapp have to say about the direction the club seems to be heading.

No big deal that he's gone as he's obviously not that nice a guy to have around.
We're being linked with Pranjic again, which would be interesting now that we dont have any left backs!

I'd be willing to let both those go for the right prices (£30-35 million for the pair) and providing that the funds are then used on sensible replacements.

Lucas has also been linked with Palmero despite saying he wants to stay at the club and Hodgson saying he doesn't want him to leave.
I'd actually rather keep hold of Lucas. Really didnt think much of him when he first arrived but he has kind of grown on me over time and I sometimes forget his age. Useful squad player imo.
