Selling him would be a mistake IMO. Bale is great, but we're fighting on 4 fronts so we need Ekotto as I don't think Naughton is good enough on the left (or on the right for that matter :p).

Wooooooooooooo!!!!

Sunderland have signed Bramble, as a Newcastle fan I really hope he plays loads and gives them the same level of suffering that we had to endure for years :p its almost as good as us actually signing a player :D

Why would anyone sign Titus Bramble. Why oh why.

Hearing Assou-Ekotto to Liverpool. If he gets a higher wage he'll go. He has said many times that football is just a job to him.

********, he'll come for footballing reasons just like Cole. We're the biggest club in the country :p

Hope we get Figueroa and not him anyway.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says he is concerned over the fitness of defenders Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King ahead of the new season.

Woodgate played only three games last season and King featured only briefly at the World Cup because of injury.

"Jonathan will not be fit for the start of the season," Spurs boss Redknapp told Sportsweek. "He's in a position where he can't train or kick a ball.

"Ledley has come back and his knee is not great and he has a groin problem."

Looks like he'll be looking to get even more centre backs in. I swear we're like a refuge for poor defensive replacements.

Holy crap! I'm just...I'm shocked to my skin, I can't fully put this into words yet...I might have to go and sit down.

:p

If West Ham lose Scott Parker, we are well and truly ******. Fingers crossed the rumours of Villa and Spurs interest aren't true.

It won't be great, he's been fantastic, but the owners are clearly investing, and honestly, you don't need someone playing as well as Parker has to improve league position dramatically. He's not all that young either so it might be a better idea to cash in now, get a couple of more than good enough players to get West ham back up in the top half and pay off a little bit of the debt.

I think its a good couple years before West Ham is back with an outside chance at the last Europa spot places again, they've got a very good basis for a squad, with some really promising youngsters. Parker will be half wasted till then, as you said, the problem is there seems to be interest from all over. I think if it came down to someone making an offer, FAR more than two clubs will be interested.

Be a shame if he goes as he is pretty much the dynamo in midfield who drives the team. I do think they'll replace him with someone decent though, Grant knows what he's doing and can find decent players. The only potential problem is the board deciding to cash in and thinking Kovac is adequate to in his role. Kovac is bloody awful, the one thing I did not get with Zola was Kovac, awful while he was on loan, and then made it permanent, awful awful player.

Bale at the moment is not a good LB, gets caught out far too much

Says a lot for Liverpool if you're wanting to sign Figueroa, there's about a million better LB's than him

Surprised no one has gone for the Portugal LB, player of the world cup in that position IMO

What did is say when Utd signed Valencia last summer? There are plently of better wingers than him around. What does it say about Utd signing Smalling and the Pygmy? There are loads better CB's and strikers than them.

I can't think of many top LB's who are available and none that wouldn't command a stupid transfer fee. Figueroa's been hugely impressive during his time at Wigan and hugely underrated imo. He's solid defensively, gets forward well and proven in the PL too.

I like Figueroa, decent player and has settled straight away in the Prem.

I don't think he would be a bad signing at all for the right price.

I'd be happy with Figueroa (I put him in my fantasy league team for the coming season because I thought he would move to Liverpool and probably wouldnt still be 4.5, so thought I would grab him while he was still that price).

Reasonable price, decent enough performer, experienced premiership player. That will do me, sure there are better full backs around...like Lahm for example. But none of them are available at a reasonable price or available at all. Given the options we could do much worse than Figueroa but probably couldnt do too much better.
