Wenger has spent £10m or over on his last 2 CB's, can't see why he'd be scared to do it again. Not sure on Mertesacker though, he's got a turning circle like Solman, not been convinced by him. Wenger won't sign Hangeland either, which I agree with
 
Rumours are that Wenger is looking to sign the italian goalkeeper Frederico Marchetti...dont know if hes any good but anyone other than Almunia and flappy fabianski is better than nothing:p.

On another note and this one is aimed at the Spuds fans here...Dodgy 'Arry has signed a new Russian donkey to go with the other russian donkey Pavlyuchenko....could be the making of a new strike partnership:p:D

Saw a bit of Marchetti in the World Cup, and he didn't look very good, but the team in front of him was appalling, so perhaps I shouldn't be too quick to judge... At this point I'd be happy to have Marchetti's mum in goal rather than sodding Fabianski!

Vermaelen was 12mil (euros). If we can reportedly try to sign Jagielka for about £13mil I don't see why we can't bid for Hangeland, even though Fulham are unlikely to sell him. 2 CB and a GK are crucial if we want to remain a top 4 club, especially with the injuries we get every season! :mad:
 
Arsene gave nothing away last night as per usual after the friendly. He said if something comes up we will sign someone but he wants to concentrate on what we have.

Not very promising but I think this is just Arsene's way of deflecting the question away.

Why do you speak about Arsenal so often? Half your posts must be Arsenal centric. Also, Vermaelen was over £10m and I'm pretty sure the new guy was too seeing as Lorient really didn't want to sell him. In fact, besides Chamakh all of his recent signings are all over £10m. Nasri, Arshavin, Vermaelen, Koscielny all 10+. You trying to be the new DM?

Probably as he seems to fly through the air pretty well;)...should be great at heading the ball;)

Sol was the 2nd CB though and he was free. :)
