I'm not sure how official that site is but that roughly translates into, "Arsenal is my favourite club in England, It would be a dream to play there".

......he said while clearly drunk as a skunk :D

Hearing that Utd and Spurs are in negotiations over Ozil. He'll be off to Utd then.

The alure of the west end attracted Ozil more than the constant rain of Manchester.....lol

(I hope not but you never know - I wont believe anything I see/read until I see x player with y shirt with his name on the back......not a la Fabregas hahaha)

Especially after a couple of journo's twitter pages last night said they'd been told by senior staff at OT that's we're not interested in him :(

I totally get where you are coming from - but I would guess from the club point of view the LAST person you would talk to about any target is a journo ;) (well I have to keep some -little - hope that Utd are interested in signing a decent player this window lol)

Why do you speak about Arsenal so often?

I speak about all teams. Notice above talking about Liverpool for a start, but I look at the strengths and weaknesses of all teams that I hope Spurs to be competing with.

Half your posts must be Arsenal centric.

Hardly, though I do enjoy winding you up.

Also, Vermaelen was over £10m and I'm pretty sure the new guy was too seeing as Lorient really didn't want to sell him.

Don't get Euros confused with Pounds. Verm was just over £10m if he meets all his clauses. The new guy was £9.7m, my point that you got so defensive over was that Wenger doesn't like spending big money.

In fact, besides Chamakh all of his recent signings are all over £10m. Nasri, Arshavin, Vermaelen, Koscielny all 10+.

Besides the fact that Verm just goes over £10m with clauses and Kos was just under 10, the point is you won't see Wenger splash big money. In todays transfer market, Wenger refuses to compete with the big boys. Which you can certainly argue is a good thing as players are ridiculously over valued, but the market is the market.

You trying to be the new DM?

Not trying to be anything, just correcting you. ;)

Neither of us know how much Verm or Kos were, Arsenal never reveal their transfer fees. £10m is a lot for a defender for any manager. Anyway, surely you're bored of speaking about Arsenal by now? Everyone is bored of you talking about them and you're not winding anybody up. You speak about them more than Spurs

Couldn't be bothered to respond really. 10m+ and 9.7m+ are both expensive fees for young, relatively unknown defenders (actually more than you'd expect from Wenger). We all know Wenger won't spend 30m I don't really need to argue with him on that and I never claimed that anyway

We weren't talking about a young defender or one that would cost £30m though were we?

Arsenal NEED another top class CB, Hangelands name was mentioned, my comment was that Wenger wouldn't spend £15+m on a 29y/o. Which was what you disagreed with, but by the looks of it have changed your mind...

I think he would if he wanted him, but a 29 year old with no top level experience is hardly worth 15m. That said, if Wenger wanted him he'd pay the money. I just hope he doesn't as in my eyes Hangeland is definitely not a 15m defender, not close. Wenger has said before he has no interest in Hangeland though

If your point is that Wenger values players with a modicum of sensibility then I'd agree, not that he wouldn't spend for players that he wants.

Players are worth what the market and clubs dicatate they're worth. I don't think Fulham would sell for less than £15m. Wenger would jump at the chance if he was £5m, but he isn't so won't sign him.

Yeah, he's not worth £15m though, surely you can see that? Why would Wenger throw cash away in times like these?

He's worth that to Fulham, like Fabregas is worth £50m+ to Arsenal. I don't think Wenger would, which is exactly my point... *facepalm*

Fabregas is worth £50m+ to a lot of clubs. I doubt anybody in world football would buy Hangeland for £15m. If your point is that Wenger refuses to spend 15m on a defender then I'd disagree yes. It has to be the right defender obviously. Apparently Arsenal had a 15m bid for Jags declined last week anyway, a player who probably is worth 15m

Hangeland is indeed worth £15m+ to Fulham. It's not often you actually get a 6'5 defender who is actually good..I mean we paid £2.5m or £3m for Hangeland, and traded tracksuits for Zat Knight - which one has been actually good? :p

I wouldn't pay £50m for Fabregas, but Hangeland is at least worth £10m considering other buys. a player like him has many seasons left. Also the extra money would be because he has recently signed a contract..

Jagielka is like a year younger, though? :/

10-12 feels about right for Hangeland, he's already quite slow and is approaching the latter years of his career so won't get faster. Lanky players often break down quite rapidly when they hit 30 too.

Edit - I personally think Jags is better than Hangeland but that's just me (and Arsenal obviously)

He's one of our fittest players, which is quite an achievement considering the team Fulham have. He could go for at least another 4 seasons in the Prem I reckon.

Still quite slow and Wenger doesn't like slow defenders at all. I do like Hangeland and he's a solid defender, I just feel he's the wrong fit for Arsenal and it doesn't make sense to me, especially for 15mils. Then again I think Mertesacker is also not quite right for Arsenal so sort of hoping that doesn't happen either, but beggars can't be choosers
