Drogba and Torres up front would frightening.

Can't see it though, I think Chelsea are more likely to get Aguero.

Why's Fabregas talking about getting his future sorted all of a sudden? He's got a contract until 2014 hasn't he?

Modern footballers just do my head in, what's the point in signing a 4-5yr contract when you top it up every year anyway to get more money. I'm not singling out Fabregas here, Ronaldo did it every year he was with us, Tevez is doing it at City despite not even being there a full year yet. They all just seem to look for more money each year regardless of what happens on the pitch or the trophies they win. Clubs have to see sense sooner or later, it's not good for the fans seeing ticket prices rise to accommodate paying a player an extra £10,000 a week on top of their existing £100,000 a week.

A complete joke that Peter Storrie during the week said they'd be looking for compensation should West Ham bring Avram Grant to Upton Park as manager. Hmmmmm, expecting compensation for a manager they haven't even paid this year... beggar's belief it really is.

Fulham apparently after Curtis Davies, Nicky Maynard, Steve Sidwell and some Norwegian Magne Hoseth along with Carlton Cole to partner Zamora next season. Also apparently £2m agreed for Shorey, if we decide to go for him. Doubt there's much truth in it, but also Everton/Aston Villa after Bobby Zamora for ~£8m.

Don't know much about Maynard, is he any good?

I think its more of a reward and a way of trying to get players to stay rather than Fabregas going to them and saying he wants more money. You also have to think about the agent who is trying to get their client (more likely themselves) more money.

I would have thought it was Arsenal that offered rather than Fabregas asked. With big teams sniffing around you dont have to ask for more money when people are saying you could be earning X amount if you played for this or that team.

Laugh it up boys...

He's probably on half as much as Ferdinand, Terry and Co and still one of the best CB's in the Prem. In fact I'd rather have King over those two.

Would be interesting to see how much he gets paid per game though. He could be on a third of what other players get paid but its not value for money if he doesnt play.

Then you're going to need to pay his replacement the other half wage you're saving for when he can't play?

This season yes.
2001–02 32 40
2002–03 25 26
2003–04 29 35
2004–05 38 47
2005–06 26 27
2006–07 21 27
2007–08 4 10
2008–09 24 29
2009–10 20 21

Appearances for King for Spurs since establishing himself first choice. First figure Prem only, season total including the cups in bold.

Yeah, but King plays for Spurs you see, so he can't be good, worth his wage, or even good enough to get into any other Prem side.

It's science.
OCUk science mumbo jumbo you mean? ;)

Well considering he played more games the season before and roughly the same in the seasons before 2007, I don't see what more you could ask? :p

Pfft ;)

I rate him, I've said many times in previous posts he's one of the best English defenders :p

I just don't think he'd be able to stay fit, with him not training and often not being able to play two games a week, which lets him down.

Next season will be the test with maybe no break over the summer if he gets picked and then CL football which starts earlier next season.

I think he is a good player but I wouldnt be too happy paying his wages if I were forking the bill each week.

Consistency is what a good premiership player is about and he cant play enough to be considered a great player.
