Arteta hasnt re-signed yet has he?

Rumours he was being looked at closely by a few of the big four

Cahill is a good player - but I think the likes of Everton would get the most out of him, not sure he would flourish at Utd (although it would be good to see him try)

Ibrahimovic will not come to Arsenal. He was offered a trial some years ago, and didn't want to come then, Can't imagine Wenger would want him, or where he would fit.

Neither do i and to be honest id rather have Henry back:p...not that its gonna happen as hes off to America to play his remaining yrs of football.

I dont think he will fit into Arsenal as it is...we have enough strikers/forwards now i think with Chamakh signing up.

Cahill has re-signed so very pleased. 56 goals in 209 games I'm frankly amazed he's gone untouched by the top 4 for so long. Especially when the season gets on and you have injuries he can fill in anywhere in the midfield and up top.

He gets stuck in and never gives up. Both him an arteta should have been snapped up years ago.

Would have been good if Arsenal got him...few weeks back we were being linked with him from what i read.

I don't see why Barca wanted him either. Especially not when you factor in they lost someone more potent and had to pay money to do so.

Well imo it was probably one of the worst transfer deals i have seen in a long time...sending Eto to Inter and giving Inter £40mill as well:confused:

According to Wiki Ibrahimovic's total value if you factor in the Eto'o swap was 69 million Euro's, or £59,000,000 which is absolutely extortionate. Think of the people you could get for that, the worlds best and most prolific strikers would be able to be snapped up with that kind of money, instead Barca have gotten rid of one of their best players and instead have someone who's scored nowhere near enough to justify his price tag.

As for Cahill and Arteta, I'd like to see both at Arsenal, more so Arteta but I think you guys might be mixed up with Gary Cahill who we've been linked with recently. :)

From what I understood of the rumours, Arsene Wenger has weighed up the possibility of replacing Fabregas (if he goes) with Arteta. While I don't think that is a terrible thing I mean no disrespect to Mikel but he isn't even in Fabregas' league in terms of quality. If Wenger sells fab for an estimated £30-35 million and replaces him with only Arteta I am not going to be happy in the slightest.

Apparently Arsenal are demanding £60m+ from Barca for Cesc. In my eyes, when it gets to the stage the player wants to be elsewhere, and you can get that absurd amount of cash for him, it's best for all involved to sell him and move on (a la Ronaldo)

You can't compare what Utd paid for Ronaldo 7(?) years ago.

He was the world's most expensive teenager at the time, and it was still a big gamble based on his performances. He didn't grow into the monster of a player he became at United overnight - it took several years of maturing.

From Cesc's comments it does look like he wants to engineer a move this summer, which is a shame, I thought he'd stay another year...but you don't need players like that in your team threatening to leave every transfer window, especially if they are the captain and spiritual leader. He was always going back to Barca wasn't he!

If we can get stupid amounts of millions from him, it probably is best to let him go and reinvest. It's a shame we lost David Dein, this is totally an opportunity to take Barca to the cleaners with his jewy wheeling dealing skills, as Inter did with the Ibra/Eto'o swap! :D
We would have got a fantastic amount of money, and he'd be the man to then go out and help splurge it!

Scratch my prediction of Arsenal being a threat to the title next season, if...sorry when they lose Fabregas in a couple of weeks time they will be screwed!

Just reading all the Fabregas reports. They're talking about any possible fee being around £30-35m

If he does go, unless Wenger changes his recent ways then this could set Arsenal back a good few years, even if they get a double the above fee.

Whilst it's entirely possibly Fabregas will leave this summer, I see no new statements, no new information, other than media spin.

Cudicini signed another 12 month deal with spurs, reckon his contract will ban him from riding any motorbikes? :p

I wouldn't let him go for no less then £50m :D It's not just about his ability, it's what he means to the club and what he does for us. I really hope he doesn't leave but i wouldn't blame him if he did, it's frustrating to play for a team that always comes so close to winning silverware only to let it go so easily.

Frustration.
