£15m may be a good offer, but who is going to replace him? He is an important player for 'pool and one they will struggle to improve upon.

Fact is, over the last few years, even counting this summers spending, we should still be +20~30 mill to spend on new players, but it never materialises.

'the board' tell us that wages must be taken out of the transfer kitty for new signings too, fair enough then. But what when we sell a player with time left on his contract? do the cash 'saved' from the wages we no longer have to pay get put back into the kitty? Nope! Right into the Yanks pockets.

We dont want to sell players because we wont see the cash to replace them! so whats the point?

I've always appreciated Kuyt for Liverpool, but he looked awful against City (and most of last season). If we could get £15m for him at 30 years old and spend it on Tovoinen and Ben Arfa, I would do that deal.

I'd happily go without a striker and LB if the transfer window would close now. With less than a week to go in the transfer window, we literally have no idea what sort of shape our squad's going to be in.

Will we sign a LB and/or a striker? Will Insua, Kyrgiakos, Masch and Kuyt leave?

Nemeths agent just announced the decision to sell him from LFC to Olympi' was down to financial reasons, rather then wanting to keep him.

And Roy hasnt seen a penny of these funds, so we know where they are going!

Nemeth wouldn't have made it with us and was going to be sold regardless. Fantastic finisher but too lightweight and has been injured for the best part of 2 years now.

Nemeth agent: "Liverpool told us that it is not the question of quality but a financial decision. As it is with others out this season."

Worrying that last sentence :( considering the 'quality' we had coming in i cant help but feel like asset stripping is taking place, and the yanks are pocketing most of the cash.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to his agent. He's hardly going to come out and say that we've got rid of him because he's not good enough.

Seen a few reports saying we're willing to pay up to £3.5 million for Konchesky. Absolutely ridiculous considering we've got a better left back sitting at home twiddling his thumbs because the board want to sell him and the manager appears not to want him.

I wonder if Wenger would be interested in picking up Taylor from Newcastle. What's he like now? I remember seeing some good performances against us from him but havent seen him for a few years.

Hodgson's come out and said he has no intention of letting Kuyt go. After claiming Aquilani was only going out on loan to prove his fitness before coming back I really don't know whether I can believe a word he says.
