And they all drive bloody white Audis, the ********!! (can I say that?)

Clause 78 of the overclockers sports forum rules states:

'Bad language will not be tollerated unless it is directed at those overrated ***** that play for manchester city.'

Looks like you are fine.

Genuinely don't think we need to. At the moment we have a solid squad. Next summer might be a different story depending on Scholes/Giggs' plans.

Got to say I'm more happy about our squad than I have been for a while, I think it depends on how all our young/inexperienced players develop this season.

Berbatov's last goal was immense, those that doubted him are idiots. I stand by my prediction that he will outscore Rooney. :p

I think arse should have gone for a keeper this season. It'll be interesting next season as both man united and le arse will be after a new goalie. Might drive a few prices up.

I still think he can turn it around at Utd. He just needs to realize he needs to change his attitude and he will explode onto the scene at OT. He has the ability to be truly world class, no doubt about it.

You go deaf ;)

Ear sex! :D

Just reading the last page (man size pages) of this thread and I missed the part about the Arsenal goalkeeping situation. I think that if someone was brought in, say Schwarzer for example it would have just been Almunia at 2nd choice and Fabianski out on loan, or at least that would have been the ideal situation. I wouldn't want to have to sell or release Almunia, he's a good back up, and I'm okay with him being first choice for the moment, but I can't say I'd be thrilled at the idea of him being number 1 until he retires. That said though I don't think he's as terrible as people make out, he's not as commanding as he could be but he rarely makes massive clangers, personally with the N'gog shot I've said before I don't think he could have done better, it would have been a matter of inches, the defence let him down royally and Clichy has been at fault for two goals now, it's the defence letting him down more than him letting the team down.

I heard not so long back about Wenger having an eye on Akinfeev and Arshavin talking to him about London life etc, maybe nothing will come of it but you never know.

Rooney averages 20 goals a season, he has had 1 great season and now everyone thinks he is god, there are far better strikers than him. he averages 1 goal every 2.5 games. He is on par with frank lampard who is a midfielder.

There aren't far better strikers than Rooney, there are a couple who are a bit better, almost as mad as calling Berbatov world class! Sure he's got loads of talent, but so has Hleb and nobody is calling him world class.

Rooney doesn't take freekicks or penalties though (well, before Ronaldo).

Also isn't it only recenty that Fergie told Rooney to stop doing all the donkey work as he kept dropping deep to get the ball and running down the flanks, setting other people up etc? Those stats don't really tell the extent of the work he does all over the pitch.

There's much more to Rooney than his scoring record and arguably his first season where he was told to stay in the box and score he excelled at that too.

Depends whether you're talking about strikers or forwards really doesnt it, which people seem to be confusing the two seamlessly.

rooney has only had 1 great season, he needs another few under his belt before he can compare with the likes of

villa, etoo, milito, forlan, higuain, drogba, ronaldo, torres and co.

even tevez managed 29 goals in 40 games last season. pato is 21 and he has a better scoring record than rooney.

for me rooney is no better then van persie, he is overated due to him being english and playing for manchester united. just look at torres, he has been pretty much crippled with injuries and playing in a much worse team yet he outscores rooney in the goals to game ratio.

as for all the work he does off the ball, so do others, drogba defends more than what rooney does.
