Ronaldinho is a winger and Cahill is a crock.

i have ronaldinho down as an AMLC he did used to play quite centrally till he became lazy so they had to stick him on the wing!

Cahill scores goals, regardless of how you look at it.

I agree we won't but it gives us a hell of a lot more options than the 4-5-1 pish, which has been our problem for a few seasons now.

When in a losing situation to be able to go 4-4-2 with an AM and a DM would make sense rather than just throwing on midfielders who have no creativity whatsoever.

Ideal but not a chance in the world.

yea it almost worked when we had keane and scholes, you know one defensive dynamo and another guy who can drop a 70 yard pass onto giggs knee.

when you have carrick, fletcher etc none of whom can be relied upon in anyway to do the true job of either an attacking mid OR a defensive mid, then the luxury of being able to play an almost dedicated AMD dissapears completely...

hence why we play 3 in the middle, because no 2 of the mids we have are good enough to do the job themselves. Quantity>Quality is how we have been packing our centre mid roles...

thats why a 442 with an attacking center mid cant happen, because we lack quality.

maybe hargreaves can come back and turn everything around.

but he is the real 18million crock.

and with carrick being gifted in neither the defensive or attacking sense, he is just another MC to fill a hole that shouldnt even be there.

Handerson could have been the one... i think fergie has mismanaged him, and now he wants to leave but he is so good and so talented we would be idiotic to let him go now. he could be an awesome player.

infact he is our only center midfielder who can take a player on and run past the opponent.

LOL, barely qualifies as a midfielder :D Has he even scored yet?

I have Messi down as a Centre Half. Doesn't mean he is :/

Not when he's injured he doesn't.

ill let you go check your football manager 200x, you let me know what he is down as...im basing mine on where he used to play and how he is listed (or was when i played it) in the best selling football manager game.

that serves nothing but shows how bad a judge of player position you are really, or how ill concieved your attempted humour really was.

Why have you quoted the same statement twice?

Full name Ronaldo de Assis Moreira
Date of birth 21 March 1980 (1980-03-21) (age 30)
Place of birth Porto Alegre, Brazil
Height 1.82 m (6 ft 0 in)[1]
Playing position Left winger

Did you actually think I would play Messi at centre half? What I was saying is it doesn't matter **** what 'you have him down as', Ronaldinho's a left winger. Just because he's been deployed as a forwared in the past doesn't make him an attacking central midfielder. Henry joined Arsenal as a winger. Did that make him a winger all the time he was there?

Nah, he's more of a forward. Kaka?

Why not.

Holy **** I agree with a Nickg post

Ronaldinho's role has changed since going to Milan. At Barca there is no way you could have classed him as a winger, he played a pretty much identical role to Messi does now, cutting inside and attacking the centre whenever possible. Now that he has lost some of his pace and work ethic, he sticks more rigidly to the wing, though there are still a lot of times you see him pop up in a more central role.

I agree though, I can't understand why United would be going after wingers when we badly need another striker and an attacking midfielder to eventually replace Scholes, though we also need a DM because neither Carrick nor Fletcher can play that role and Hargreaves is permanently injured!

i dont know, beginners luck?

i dont know where you'd play messi tbh.

henry can easily play the wide man, doesnt he do that at barca? and for france when he played for them?

can anyone with FM10 or FM9 clarify what it provides as Ronaldinhos position, i bet its not AML.

of course it doesnt matter what i have him down as, but it does matter as to WHY i have him down as that, like i say, check FM, check his previous games. he is capable in the center or wide, its just that of late he has been played wide more than centrally.

as for messi i cant think of any occasion when he has been played as a center back, hence why your comment was complete cobblers. almost like some crazed straw man argument -the effect it had was to lessen my view of your opinion even further... so well played on that front.

That's OK, I don't have an opinion of you, so yours couldn't be impacted :)

The Messi comment was illustrative of the fact that what you or I have them down as has zero bearing whatsoever on the positions they play. The fact that you read it seriously makes me wonder how you possibly get through the day without falling down so much your brains start oozing out of your ears.

listen, you can try to insult me all you like. but id rather you just apologise for making such a silly statement which clearly had no bearing on the post i made and was simply a throw away comment designed as some kind of jibe.

the idea that ronaldinho is an AMLC is not just my own but has been collated from experience and from numerous sources baed upon where he has played in the past and his own attributes...even if you personally dont agree with my assessment, it isnt exactly out of this world for a player like ronaldinho to be descibed as a central player... like Rivaldo...for instance. equally at home on the side or in the centre in an attacking formation..... wheras your messi in defence comment, i have literally no clue where you plucked that one from. its as though you tried to pick the least likely thing ever to contrast my with comment, yet my comment has truth to it, wheras the messi one is a complete fabrication.

if you dont agree with someone there are other things you can do then simply spout rubbish in a vain attempt to try and discredit the other person by discrediting yourself.

at the end of the day you'd expect someone of your age to be able to make considerate attempts to describe a players position, and not just their position that they last played in but where they have been played and where they are capable of playing - well, or at least conduct a discussion without making such impotent input.

so united fans think they need a creative attacking central player, who can provide Rooney with a bit of support in the box when needed, and will also have a better work ethic than Berbaflop and will make plenty of tackles...

who does that sound like to me?
...is his first name Carlos? :D

So are you implying that Carrick after 3 good season (1 bad) is suddenly not good enough and needs to go and Cahill, Tim Cahill the Everton player is the man to replace him?

Jesus Christ.

Arsenal in for Mbia, heard that on the rumor mill as well :)

Reports are that Cesc's "apparently" a done deal, just need to agree a fee with Arsenal.

I agree we need Carlos back.

Queiroz.

I'm not Carrick's biggest fan, but I'm not sure how you should play him, he's played defensively and attacking, yet doesn't excel in either. Perhaps it's who he plays with *shrug*. Utd do need another attacking player though. Although with Diouf/that Hernandez, maybe they won't? Do think Berbatov will somehow find some goals, once he does it'll be good, his all round play is OK, just freezes 6 yards out :D
