Anyone using the U6-IW with Sonos? Mindful of the STP "issues" with Sonos and if I recall the U6-IW doesn't have STP capability.
SE is quiet and the Pro 24 non-POE is silent.Moving home soon and thinking of moving on from USG4 + need more than 8 port switch.
Looking at UDMSE+Pro24 switch (maybe PoE, need to think hard and be realistic on this lol) and 2x AP
Anyone know how hot these two can run and the sort of noise generation?
Have the option of attic/basement/office placement for them. Office obviously ideal for ease of access but concerned about noise and adding to heat in summers (although free heat in winter perhaps)
Thanks Chris.SE is quiet and the Pro 24 non-POE is silent.
UniFi do a nice rack but it only works with their kit, you might be able to get a shelf though. If not I highly rate Penn-Elcom racks (I have an 18U one). Thanks Chris.
Pro24 PoE noise levels based on amount of power being used for devices on POE or generally just loud?
Any idea how much they'd add to ambient room temperature?
Bombardment of queries but any suggestions on racks? I can't see me needing more than 6U (Above+power strip+patch+extra space for Pi/Hue Bridge)
Yeah that UniFi rack is aesthetically please (to me, perhaps not my partner ) Having it open like that invites more dust and noise leakage I suppose is my only concern.UniFi do a nice rack but it only works with their kit, you might be able to get a shelf though. SE and a switch will be fine in a cupboard.

Finally moved my guest, IOT, and camera SSIDs over to pre-shared keys, very handy feature but annoying I still have to run a separate SSID for 6e.
What does this mean/benefits?Finally moved my guest, IOT, and camera SSIDs over to pre-shared keys, very handy feature but annoying I still have to run a separate SSID for 6e.
You have one SSID, then map passwords to networks. Means you don't have 3 or 4 SSIDs broadcasting and you can reduce it to a single one (or two if you have 6e as it doesn't support it). What does this mean/benefits?
Yes, I posted about power usage earlier in this thread.
USW-Enterprise-48-PoE ~40w idle
USW-Enterprise-24-PoE ~25w idle
USW-Enterprise-8-PoE ~22w idle
I can't recall what the AGGR Pro uses at idle now, I'll have to look at the PDU.
The reason for going with the USW-Enterprise-48-PoE was I had a USW-Enterprise-24-PoE, 2 x USW-Enterprise-8-PoE and a few other little switches around. So I have condensed it all down, and re-done a number of cable runs so overall I have a reduced footprint. I also have them on a switchable (APC) PDU strip so if they are not needed they can be remotely turned off. The other thing as well even though a minor point is not all the ports on the USW-Enterprise-24-PoE are 2.5 GbE.
Glad I found this again as I was considering an offer on a 3 month old USW-Pro-48-POE and I assume they're about 40w idle.
They already have FRR installed and running to support site magic, so it’s just a case of editing two files.I don't want to know what horrifying things are going on to have BGP running on a UniFi device
