it was early, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it.He's asking where the option is within the app to add a standalone AP, not whether or not the app is in the App Store.

Thanks. Found that. But there’s nowhere in the app to do this part.
Scan the QR Code on the back of your AP
I’ve done stand alone several times. I’ve got 10+ controllers within my app that I manage. Just having a brain fade right now or the functionality has been removed.
Open iOS app
Click on + sign top right
Click need help
Click Access Point tab under Device Setup here
Then click manual set at the bottom
Next screen - click continue anyway blue box at the bottom
Then you can scan QR code
I messaged Chris from Crosstalk during the premiere of the video and asked if the UXG-Lite with IDS and Smart Queues turned on, would exceed 700Mb/s transfer speed and he said he didn't think it would. This model looks to be very much an entry level device, but there is another device coming out shortly from Ubiquiti, hopefully this will have better CPU and 2.5Gb LAN/WAN ports.
Did he test it or just an educated guess?I messaged Chris from Crosstalk during the premiere of the video and asked if the UXG-Lite with IDS and Smart Queues turned on, would exceed 700Mb/s transfer speed and he said he didn't think it would. Evening all, I've just bought 2 Unifi 6 pro access points for my home; 1 for upstairs and 1 for down.
Both are set up with the same SSID and password but I have 2 devices (Nest camera and doorbell) that have poor signal - showing as connected to the downstairs point even though the upstairs one is probably closer to them.
Is there a way to get them onto the closer AP or should they switch automatically?
You yourself said yesterday that it wouldn't?I messaged Chris from Crosstalk during the premiere of the video and asked if the UXG-Lite with IDS and Smart Queues turned on, would exceed 700Mb/s transfer speed and he said he didn't think it would. Starting to wish I jumped on the U6 Pro when it was £120 last week. Ah well.

I'm not saying it will, but I think it's prudent to have actual test data prior to making assumptions about its performance.
Chris covered that use case in his video quite well, it's for MSPs/system integrators or people who already have UniFi kit and wanting to upgrade their USG 3.I really don't know who is going to buy the UXG-Lite, because you are going to have to purchase a cloud-key, or host the controller on the cloud, then add in a switch and an access point to get a basic home system.
If using Unifi controller,
log into to the controller from your browser,
click on the client devices icon from on the left hand side.
Click on your camera or doorbell listed in the client devices
The client overview pane should open on the righ-hand side, click on the settings cog icon on the top right of the newly opened pane.
You should see Lock to access point option and a tick box in the upper part of the pane.
Tick the box and then select your access point and away you go.
It's fairly straightforward to run a controller in Oracle Cloud free tier.I currently run the controller on my PC when needed.
I didn't even consider that to be honest. It's fairly straightforward to run a controller in Oracle Cloud free tier.
