Anyone running their cameras via wireless mesh?

In the interim before deciding how to get a cable to the garage I’m thinking Poe switch in the garage for a protect camera and two lights.

Prob a G5 bullet or Pro

I don’t think it is. There has been a huge push recently on the UniFi gateways so most of the dev has been there.
Could be wrong but I was under the impression edge was mothballed

Network Application only. Well you can do stuff on the command line but it has no web interface.

Just got round to setting up my NVR, its currently updating as it shipped with UnifiOS V1, currently on my 3rd update...

Indeed, I just threw a couple of old HDD in it to test and it looks to be all good.

I’m not going to transfer over my cameras to it until my new CCTV drive turns up.

Is there anyway to get protect to not run raid on the disks, e.g. if you put 2 drives in it defaults to raid 1?

I’d rather it didn’t, I’m not fussed about losing the data if a drive fails, I’d rather have the extra capacity.

I have no idea, sorry, I only have an SE. I have considered an NVR a few times but like you I'm not really bothered if I lose data and I have detections available in Apple Home.

I’m probably only going to put one disk in it, it’s more if I want to expand it, I’ll need to put in 2 more drives or replace it.

I don’t think you can do single disk to a raid set.

Presumably all the clips would get overridden when the disks get put into raid (which is fine by me). Hopefully they would ask first!

I guess so as it would be a disk wipe so all data would be lost.

Why oh why are the RJ45 limited to 2.5gb, with a price tag like that the RJ45 should be up to 10gb capable as well.
