I’m not even sure why they have done that?
The version UCG-Max that does not come with an SSD, does not come with the mounting tray/heatsink for an SSD either, so there is no way to mount a SSD; except to pry the lid off or butcher it like he did. The mounting tray is an extra purchase, which is not currently in-stock.

I think the guy was making a point judging by the title of the post as he maybe took exception at Ubiquiti not including the tray. Yet charging Apple prices for the storage (+£270 for a 2TB SSD)

Port management with UniFi is great, and it's annoying having other vendors. However I just set my Mikrotik up as a dumb switch and it's forwarding tagged VLANs perfectly fine.
I moved my CRS326 and 328 to bridge vlan filtering the other night so I can pvid if I need to. 3 hours of safe mode saving my ass!
Done now though and vlanning correctly.

AP and switch arrived and installed. Just need to go through the setup wizard and integrate with our existing ISP modem etc. the joy will be removing the home plugs and temp cabling that we've put in place about 2 years ago :D

Finally got the courage (memories of previously having to remove ceiling mounted APs to reset and adopt) to move my self-hosted controller into the updated two-image docker with mongodb. The backup and upgrade actually worked perfectly. A few issues with conencting to the database (issues in my docker compose) but after that it was all good. Just in case anyone else is still sitting on the older 'single' image container which is stuck at an older network application version.

My dream machines turned up so I’m wondering how I go about migrating my cloudkey 2.

It’s not connected to my UniFi account, and I can’t seem to connect it nor enable remote management. It’s old and been running my UniFi stuff for so long.

It’s not currently running as a gateway, just a controller for all my UniFi stuff, but I’ll want the DM to be the new gateway, but I want to retain all my vlans and switch aggregations, so what’s the best way to proceed?

I’ve a setting only unf file backed up, do I connect the DM to my existing to set it up and update it, then restore the backup to it whilst disconnecting the CK?

As far as I'm aware yes you just pull a backup from the CK and restore it to the DM. Leave the CK in your working environment, restore to the DM which can be powered on and then restored to and set up your internet settings. Should be a straight swap in then.

Tried this but it’s stuck on wanting my internet connection connecting to it, not getting to an option to restore a backup.

Seems from reading ui forums you need to connect it up to the wan to get to the network settings page?

You could try connecting the DM wan to your existing LAN and let it get connection that way? Likely have to change it but you’ll get past your speed bump.
Yeah thought I’d give it a go but it couldn’t detect the internet connection. Hmmm.

Ok never mind it’s worked now. Updating firmware then I’ll try restoring a backup and see.

Ok well it updated and rebooted and now I can’t see it anywhere :p. It’s got an ip, but I can’t connect to it via lan/wifi/direct attached laptop.

Oh well got to head out soon so I’ll just have to spend more time this evening. Always the way with UniFi stuff!

I think the ui app is getting confused between direct attaching to my cloudkey and the dream machine being attached to my UniFi account. Surely there must be a way to get a direct attached (ck) console moved into a ui account?
