I'd agree but they seem to be going in strong with that starting price.7 Bays seems like an odd number (although a much more useful number for e.g. RAID6).
No mention of M.2 Slots though for e.g. caching.
Software will also be the make or break point for this
I have no issues with that on a unit of that size.Looks like only a choice of RAID5 vs RAID10
RAID10 leaves you with an odd unused drive bay. RAID5 over 7 drives seems like 2 too many - RAID6 would be a better choiceI have no issues with that on a unit of that size.
Mine came with genuine brick in the box and extra uk lead outside the box.

RAID10 and hot spare, if it supports spares.
But why oh why have they done the drive layout like that, have they never seen another storage product, would have been far better with 2u to go 2.5" vertical mount for 20+ bays, they could have then offered 6, 12, 24 bay options, also look at its depth, should be about a 3rd shallower, that's a whole lot of space for 7 drives, 4u for 14 drives is mental.
It does support a hot spare.
There are rumours of 2 other NAS devices, I have seen.

Either of them work for home use? In line with their non-rack kit?
What does the genuine brick look like? I've got two of these things and both came with a brick with a moulded-in plug affair.

It looks like mine, although I’m not home to take a picture.Interesting, and this is definitely a Lite 8 PoE? Might try ordering from BB and see what I get.
NASCompares said no containers or M.2 support. The CPU is pretty weak in this. Will watch the videos later. Only 1x SFP+ port is disappointing.
Few things I'd like to know, and I suspect some would be answered in the videos.
Will it do iSCSI
Can you set up virtual networks, ie, multiple VLANs on it
Can it run containers/VMs
M2 support
