@bledd

Yep I defo had a loop. I'll get a diagram done today. But yes I has 2 cables running from the switch in the cabinet up to the loft then these two cables went into 1 8port switch which then went into another 8 port switch. More like a ring main. Which is probably why its been rock solid since seperating

Thank you for the swift reply .

I will go with the mobile application for the web controller. So do I connect all the Unifi access points to a Unifi or other PoE switch then the switch to the Sky hub? Does only one access point connect to the Sky hub and the rest connect to that access point wirelessly?

Yes you connect the AP's to the PoE Switch and the Switch to the Sky device. The AP's are wired in, there is a wireless uplink functionality but it is intended as a fallback if the wired connection fails for some reason.

Couldn't be much wronger TBF (no offense intended). Your USG will effectively be a LAN device of your SKY router.

Sky Router - Make IP address anything you like 192.168.0.1 (for example)
Sky Router - Disable DHCP
Sky router - Point DMZ to 192.168.0.2

USG - WAN setup as static IP, IP address 192.168.0.2, Gateway/Router 192.168.0.1, Subnet 255.255.255.0, DNS 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 -or- 192.168.0.1
USG - LAN IP address 192.168.1.1 >DHCP pool whatever you like
DNS - I generally recommend using the ISP's DNS so you can either name SKY's directly (as it will be fastest to respond) or Google's as they are reliable.

HTH clear things up.

This seems to have done the trick, everything seems to be pretty stable, thank you for helping me out with this.

What sort of things should I be worried about with Double NAT?

Also I cant disable my sky wifi as my sky q boxes run of it, I have renamed it completely though and only the Sky boxes use it now.

Thanks again for all your help and advice guys.

I wouldn't worry too much about double NAT as you are DMZ'ing so effectively even though you are NAT'ing twice, the USG see's "bare" internet so you are removing this complication. It's far from the cleanest solution ever but I think on your case it's about the only one because of SKY's MER authentication.
If you can't disable the wifi, just make sure that your existing router stays as far away wirelessly as it can (ie use channel 1 for router and 11 for your nearest AP) to minimise interference.

Never noticed any mention of other AP's being used but you don't need the Sky hub for the Q boxes. As long as they can communicate to the master box then they can be wired/wireless using any other manufacturer. I've got my hub set up similar to Steveocee with a few Ubiquiti AP's scattered about and everything still works great.

I'd recommend changing the LAN IP of the hub before you DMZ it to the USG if you plan on setting up any VPN related features in the future so you don't need to bother with it again. I left mine on the default and now need to change it to do a site-site VPN between two USG's as the USG at my end has the same IP as the subnet at the other end :o

Got the Sky Boxes all working on my new wireless network without any issues, however, when I turned off the wifi on the sky router it actually doesnt turn off, its still visible. I have disable both the 2.4Ghz and the 5Ghz but it still shows, which is strange.

@bledd

Ok see if this makes any sense.

This is the original set up.

The points in the loft were 2 8 port switches.

I then thought the switches were dying so I removed them. And connected the Rig in the loft directly to the socket/Cable (loft feed 2) running back down to the main 24 port switch. And at the same time connected the cable feeding 1 of the office ports directly to the other loft feed (loft feed 1)
After doing this the network came back up and all was good again..But looks like a coincidence

Until today. Its ran solid for 14 hrs then off again. My Mining rigs are hashing at full the half power. They drop to half power as soon as I get a message on the screen saying XMR connection lost. 1 rig then the other follows suit. Then they come back to full power again a few mins later.

The equipment I have is as follows

VM Superhub
Ubiquiti UniFi USG Enterprise Security Gateway Broadband Router
Ubiquiti ES-24-LITE EdgeSwitch 24-Port Layer 2 Managed Stackable Gigabit Switch w/ 2x SFP
Patch panel
2x Netgear 8 port gigabit switches (poss knackered)
1x Tplink Switch (brand new)

I still have no Idea what it could be.

I need another POE switch so I've ordered a 24 port unifi POE. Which will be here Wed. In the meantime. I'm going to redo the connections behind the patch panel. We've had Plumbers and Sparkies in and anyone of them could have given the cables a tug in the wrong direction. Its pretty tight under the stairs.

So I'll probably be back on Wed.

Go back to basics. Plug a lan cable into the lan port of your USG and see if you can get internet from that. Work your way backwards. No point reterminating 10 ends if there's only 1 that needs doing.

I have a Virgin superhub and a 2 story 5 bed house . If I bought just one UAP AC-LR would it be enough to cover the whole house ? I need to have 1 LAN port for my NAS and 1 LAN port for my Hive hub and maybe an additional spare. Can I simply disable the Wireless on the superhub or do I have to run it in modem mode as I would lose the ports. Last one - does this have parental controls so I could block a client between certain hours ?

Unifi UAP's are god but they aren't a magic bullet. I have a 1930's 2 storey, 4 bed semi and an AC-LR does cover the whole house. This may work for you, it may not.
Leave the VM hub in router mode and disable wifi.
You can configure a schedule per SSID if you want to shut access off form the kids, I do this on the kids and guest networks.

Ok Guys

New switch is installed and working.. But I couldn't find it in devices on the controller... Thinking its conflicting with my other unifi poe switch I removed (stupidly) it. The I find the new 24 port POE switch on a new site. (looks like BBB set me up an new site with the same name as my existing site)

So. Can someone help me move my New 24port poe switch onto the correct site and help me find an re instate my other 8 port POE switch.

Please

This is why I use my own controller.

You need to ask BBB to set up new hardware on your existing site.

They should be able to give you instructions on how to move it.

As said if your house has solid brick/block internal walls you might have issues with just one. Yes you can just disable the WiFI you would only need to put the Superhub into Modem mode if you wanted to use an alternate Router.
